WHEN I TURN ON MY MP3 IT SAYS FILE SYSTEM ERROR AND THAN SHUTS OFF. WHAT DO I DO? I DOWLOADED THE FIRMWARE AND NOTHING? IM NOT SURE WHAT ELSE I CAN DO?
Once you have Songbird installed, launch it and select "Repair my Philips device" in the Tools menu. Select your device and follow the instructions specific to your device. For example, instructions for the GoGear Vibe are to disconnect the device, power it down completely, and hold the volume-up key during and after USB connection until the message window disappears.
If the repair utility endlessly indicates it is checking for updates, you are likely using an out-of-date version of Songbird - probably the one that came with your GoGear. If this describes your situation, launch Songbird and select "Check for updates" in the Help menu. This will at least get you upgraded to version 1.9 (currently), even though the latest version is 1.11 (currently).
Instructions that came with some older versions for connecting GoGear in repair mode were incomplete. They left out a crucial step of turning off the GoGear and waiting for it to power down completely before reconnecting in repair mode. Newer versions of Songbird include the ability to reformat the device, reset the device, and to get progress updates during synchronization.

How to upgrade firmware 1. Download the zipped file for your region. 2. Unzip the file and you will see *.exe file. 3. Connect your H10 to PC via provided USB cable and power on H10. 4. Once it's done, it will give you 'Upgrade Complete' message. 7. Please disconnect H10 with 'Safely Remove Hardware' option on your PC task bar. 8. Turn on the power of H10, go to 'Settings -> Extra ->Firmware Upgrade' and select 'Yes'. 9. Your H10 device will shut off automatically once the firmware upgrade is complete.
Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturer?s website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.
You would need to format your MP3 and reinstall the firmware on it. Be sure to get the latest firmware so your MP3 gets all the fixes possible. Format it in FAT32 using windows or if you have an application included with the factory CD-ROM, use it to format it.
File system error is almost impossible fix - you can try updating the firmware (if you actually have an iLo, it will be impossible to update the firmware - manufacturer no longer supports)
download the nwd-b105 firmware 1.1 (google it) and once you have it connect your mp3 player to an usb port of your pc. run the firmware file you downloaded and check the "delete files" option and run the firmware. you will lose all your files but your mp3 should be functional again. remember that when you do a firmware update you must keep your mp3 connected to the pc, also a if there is for some reason a power failure you may brick your mp3 player. my mp3 player had teh same problem as yours and i fixed it this way. the reason this happens is that sometimes the antivirus delete some system files from your mp3 and thus it cant access its database causing an error and shutting down the mp3 unit. hope this helps!!
It can also be caused by transferring DRM (Digital Rights Management)
encoded media files via the drag and drop method. It is recommended that
you use the drag and drop method to transfer audio files that are not encoded
with DRM. If in doubt, use either Creative MediaSource Organizer or Windows
Media Player to transfer your files.
To resolve this difficulty, we recommend that you format the player and
transfer the content again. You can also download and install the latest
firmware, and select the Format Data Area option during firmware update.
To format a MuVo player, connect it to a USB port on your PC. Open the Windows
Explorer, and locate the Removable Drive listing and right
click on it. Select Format, and choose FAT instead of FAT32 or NTFS. After
the formatting is complete, make sure that you stop your player before disconnecting
it from your PC (see above)
To update or reload the firmware for a MuVo player, select the model of

there is a way to reset the firmware to a more stable update, or rather an older firmware. Im not sure where to get the download but I do know that you access a debug menu by turning hold on, then press and hold the menu and record buttons to refresh the database with a new firmware. *WARNING* if you find the file to restore it, it will erase all of your previous files.
