start a post with PC brand and model
then what is wrong.
a laptop has 2 batteries or even 3,
RTC coin cell bat, 1 huge battery and mine has 2 huge (option 2)
to do what I call the hard reset, and all batteries are removed.
and AC power pack unplugged.
then push power for 15 seconds and release, (hard reset)
then coin cell back and no huge battery
and run on AC pack only , does PC run now, good..
batteries can short, and then the PC power supplies overload
try new batteries, next.
It sounds like you have something that is drawing some power off of it while it is turned off. You will need to track down this parasitic drain or disconnect the battery each time you park it.
disconnect the neg bat cable at the bat, make it safe to get under the truck, remove the large nut on the solenoid, and then the small nut, remove the wires from the studs that you just removed the nuts. then remove the two bolts going straight up thru the starter and into the engine. now wiggle it out, install oppisite of removal
The best way I have found to find the draw on the bat. is to disconnect a bat. cable. hook a test light up in series between the bat. termanal and the bat. cable. If you have a draw the test light will glow, obviously the clock in the radio will cause the test light to luminate but it shouldn't be a very bright light. Go to your fuse box and start taking fuses out one at a time until the light goes out. This will tell you what curcuit the draw is on ,and will let you know what wireing diagram you need.
So I assume you never disconnected the bat. when changing the coil that is not good ....I would say buy another coil pack and start over and make sure to disconnect the bat.......Check all wires going to the coil for breaks or worn or burnt marks in wires before hooking up new coil
Sounds like dead battery cell Have bat checked. It's not a good idea to disconnect the battery on a modern computer controled vehicle while the car is running.
check all battey connections and system grounds. Check that the battery has 12v and holds properly when load tested. To check charging system, don't disconnect any battery leads...put a volt meter across the battery. when running, you should have at least 12.9v and volts should not drop. (usual reading is generally at or near 13) at idle with all accessories on voltage should be close to that as well. voltage should not exceed 14.Also make sure that drive belt is not slipping.
Sounds like you may have some severly corroded terminals since you disconnect and reconnect the battery to establish power again. Check you cables and the connections. This includes the ground cable also.
