Question about Precor Exercise & Fitness
When plugged in power switch wont stay on
Posted by Anonymous on
The power switch on Precor treads is also a circuit breaker. If it trips when plugged in, you have a dead short in the machine.

not to sound funny but are you sure that you have this tread set in the units (mpg/kph) that you require. i have worked in loads of gyms and its a common problem that people think the belt is running to fast because its set in kph and that thinks its in miles eg 9mph = 14.5kph
you can check and change the units in the club setting menu.
hope this helps :)

I'm guessing the internal fuse is blown, which is part of the safety feature when you pull the magnetic key off. You need to put the little magnetic key onto the "stop" area after each use, and it will re-set. If you take the key off "start" and the machine stops, you can't start again until you put the key on "stop". Once you do that, the main switch should work again.

Since this is the c.breaker.You must replace it.
The reason is mechanismo inside is broken, for that fact is faulty.
Proceed with the same model+amper+voltage: Please do not replace by other model with distint voltage+ amper+ model.
Disconnect the power cord before to replace, you must find in any radio schack, or computer, or hardware. sincerely G-d bless you.

( 1) You have a problem with a motor faulty.or main motor faulty or transformer.
2) The test that you did is good.
3) That means that motor is possible in short circuit.
4) Since the breaker is triiped that means the motor is consuming more ampere that normal, that indicate some possibles troubles inside the motor: a) Winding Short+ ground(carcase). You mus repair the motor or buy a new one.
5) One more thing you must to test the Main Motor controller board, that controll the Main Motor, possible Faulty.
Attached the block diagram for better ilustration that I did and you can use for better understanding.
Attached to my Tip about how to measure the motor:
see for to measure lecture of motor and tes the transformer
