Abit beep code error and LED code of 87

Moved a working Abit AX8 motherboard to a new case. Getting a beep code of Long, Short, Short, Short and then the machine powers down. My searching has shown this beep code to be a keyboard error. I've tried multiple KBs, both USB and PS2. Same effect. Pulled RAM, same effect. Using SATA hard drive and DVD. Connected or not, same effect. LED shows a code of 87, but I cannot find the manual to see what 87 is telling me. Any clues?

Thanks Palaboy, but it's not just a Long. It is Long - Short - Short - Short. My searching shows this to be a keyboard error, but I've tried multiple keyboards.

I've found the 87 code as well, and it's not relevant to this issue.

Hi, you can download a manual here:

http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=AI7&fMTYPE=Socket 478&pPRODINFO=Manual

The fault could be the cpu, wrong type of ram, a faulty ram module
or a fault in the mainboard.
Check all the settings in the manual and the bios aswell.

Here is a list of beep codes:
Basic Beep Codes for ABIT AWARD BIOS Motherboards

  1. No beep at all - this means your motherboard is dead, either due to a defective or underpowered power supply, poorly seated CPU or RAM, or a dead-on-arrival board
  2. One beep - board is working fine
  3. One long beep then machine shuts down - faulty, improperly installed or missing CPU
  4. 1 short(Beep) System booting is normally
  5. 2 short(Beep) CMOS setting error
  6. 1 long - 1 short(Beep) DRAM ERROR
  7. 1 long - 2 short(Beep) Display card or monitor connected error
  8. 1 long - 3 short(Beep) Keyboard Error
  9. 1 long - 9 short(Beep) ROM Error
  10. Long(Beep) continuous DRAM isn't inserted correctly
  11. Short(Beep) continuous POWER supply has a problem
  12. A two-tone siren, generally caused by overheating or out of specification voltages
  13. Four beeps then machine shuts down. This is because this version of the BIOS will shut down your machine if no fan tachometer signal is detected on the fan header. Make sure you attach a fan to the FAN1 or FAN4 header or clear CMOS to reset to default (no checking).

Beeps on startup but no video and continues to have long beeps with no video

Check the the cpu, ram and video card are seated properly. If they all are, then the board is defective and will need to be replaced.

Siren on boot - removing cmos battery allows startup but any changes to the bios or a restart causes siren to return. Cmos battery replaced - no change. ABIT AX8 motherboard bios version 10

the beeps are post during post the very first work is done by the ram,all the memory in the ram is first transferred to the hard disk, and remains active untill turned off.
make sure that your RAM is securely seated
test or replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive make sure the connections are secure including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA the ones that attach from your
((motherboard to hard drive))
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
hope this helps
