No boot hd disk error - Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 40 GB Hard Drive

maybe a usb device plugged? if not try in bios\boot sequence to set cdrom - hd - usbdev. then try to boot with the puppy sturdust linux cd. if it work is just the internal hd; format it and reinstall. hope it help bye

This error is caused by the boot device (hard drive, DVD, etc) not having the required Operating System files. You may need to find a different Boot Device, like maybe a DVD, with the boot files on it. Boot from DVD and reinstall HD files.

Try holding down ALT while booting up and select Macintosh HD. If that doesn't work try inserting your mac osx install CD or DVD restart hold down ALT. Select the CD using the arrow keys after the CD has loaded go up to the drop down menus and go to disk utility, then click on your main boot disk (macintosh HD) and under the First AID tab (if your using osx) click verify permissions and restore permissions, then click verify disk and repair disk. Try to boot up. If this doesn't work restart leaving work mac osx CD in hold down D then follow the disk checker steps. This will tell you if there are any errors on your disk (hard drive). If there are you need to get it fixed or replaced.

Hello sir, hi your boot error can be caused by the following:

1. Your IDE hard disk is not the first boot, and wrong available boot on the bios. Check your BIOS setup for proper boot device.
2. Your IDE hard disk has bad serctors, since its P4, I estimate your drive to be 8 years or more. You may need to format the hard drive again and reinstall your OS (windows XP).
3. IF your HD cannot be formated, or no amount of windows installation can be done on the disk, its time to replace it.
4. Your IDE cannot be detected by the motherboard. check your BIOS configuration for proper hard disk setup.
5. Your IDE hard drive and your CD drive are both master or both slave, set the hard disk to master and the CD drive to slave. The settings can be seen on the case of the HD and CD drive.
6. Your IDE ribbon cable is bad.
7. Your 4 pin molex power cable to the HD is loose.

It happens when no boot device is selected, the default is network boot first, you must select CDROM/DVDROM or HD as your first startup device. boot up machine and enter bios setup think its F2 key to enter bios generally it del or f1 or f2 it may say onscreen at start if f2 doesnt work
in the bios set boot order to HD as firstboot option then save and exit

dont know if all acers do this but also if you press f12 on boot up it gives you current boot options select HD that way is current boot and would have to be done everytime

Enter your BIOS, then check the setting under Boot Sequence.
If the first boot device is HD/Harddisk, then you havn't any proper OS intalled.
If not then change it to HD then check.

Probably this disk is bad, but try using another testing tool to be sure before replace it.

Do you have a floppy drive in the drive if so remove it. Also turn off your floppy drive or just remove it completely it could be bad sending false info to the main board saying there is floppy drive in the computer. Also try and turn the drive off in the BIOS

my Mother board is K8V-X but in boot options i see my harddisk
but in main menu no SATA..
