There are two versions of the digihome dtr80 which are made by Vestel. If you look underneath at the product sticker you will find one of three numbers:

T810 : In this case youve been conned into buying a digihome pvr80. This has very limited functions and cannot series link.

T816 : This does support series link but you need to install new firmware using a computer a a serial extension cable. You can get the firmware from here: http://www.futaura.co.uk/vestel.html You want version 6.8. Bear in mind there areside affects to this program such as recording every episode that comes along on that channel and a very sluggish interface.

T825 : This does support series link by default. You go to the epg, highlight the program you want to record, Press the OK button and a menu will appear. Select series link.

Please be aware series link only stays active for 13 weeks so you will have to redo it halfway though a series.

I have just bought a Digihome pvr320sd tv recorder with freeview, can i set it up as a tv recorder only without the freeview as i already have built in freeview on my tv.

When you set up the recorder Freeview stations will be stored. This means that you can record TV stations without watching them. So you can say watch BBC1 on your TV and record a program on Channel Four. You need the recorder set up with Freeview to recorder channels. Otherwise you would have to have your TV on and recorder set to record via the scart lead. Which would be not great quality and messy.
You should be able to loop the aerial lead so that both the TV and recorder can get the signals from your aerial, if that's what is bothering you.

I cant remember my password for my digihome dtr80.

Burn this to a cd - log in without a password - change your password normally.

How to tune freeview for digihome PVR80 it wont record bbc how to fine tune it .when we had to re-tune for channel 5 it worked perfect so please tell me how to do that again

On your remote control, press 'menu'.
Then select 'set up' on the screen.
Then select 'Installation' on the screen.
Then select 'Automatic channel scan' on the screen.
The box should then scan for all channels, and with luck BBC will be included. If not, please repost. Some older Digihome PVR80s can't cope with the new multiplexing standard employed by digital freeview.

I have a Digihome DV940B freeview receiver, and wish to set it up with a tv and video how and where do I put the areal and scart leads

This depends on how you want to use your kit, and how many scart plugs you have in your TV and VCR.
If you have 2 scarts in your tv;
Aerial coax goes to digihome aerial in. Aerial out from digihome to aerial in of vcr. Tune vcr into Digihome.
Scart plug from digihome to tv.
Scart plug from vcr to tv.
You can then record what you have selected on your digihome box.
In my humble opinion, it's worth splashing out on a pvr; you have more functionality such as being able to record 1 program and watch another.
