Epson WorkForce PrinterHead Taken OFF, Can this SCAN if ink is LOW?
Epson Workforce 520 PrinterHead is obviously clogged. I made the mistake of purchasing NOT-name-brand black ink and the printer apparently knew it. Now, my printer will not print black ink at all, only colored ink.
I have ran the diagnostics, cleaned the printer head, you name it, at least four times. All it has accomplished is EATING ALMOST ALL MY INK!!
How is it that CLEANING the printer head EATS INK!!??
I have looked and looked for all the screws I could find trying to figure out how to take this stupid thing apart so that I could clean the printer head and put the blasted ink back in - WHAT IS LEFT.
My question is....
1. Is there any way to do this?
2. Is it even worth it?
More importantly,
3. Can I scan a document to my computer if this **** thing's ink is low?

Remanufactured cartridges have too many problems. I have be using refillable with auto-reset chips and never have a problem. Google- refillable cartridges and be sure to use the proper ink, dye base or pigment. It makes a difference.
First, pull the power cord from the 3800. Open the top cover, then, plug the power cord back in. After a few seconds the head will leave the parking station and move to the left. Pull the plug again before the head has time to move back to the parking station. OR
When replacing ink on the Epson Workforce 520, Ensure the cartridges have the correct/same number of gold contacts. Ive seen them with 7 and 9 gold square contacts and they were otherwise identical, and the ones with 9 contacts threw an "cartridge not recognized" error on the printer's dispay.
