SOURCE: HELP 350d still not turning on/screen not working

Hmmm... doesn't sound too good does it? Have you tried another CF card? I know you said it doesn't work even without a card but...

Also one last thing to try is to tkae out both batteries, the main one and the slim watch style backup battery that sits right next to the main one under the cover labelled CR2016. Leave them both out for an hour and see what happens. NOTE this will probably reset your camera to factory defaults and may reset the photo numbering counter back to zero. Worth a try?

SOURCE: A75 Turn on the camera, no LCD display, It's black. The shutter is open, the batteries are new, I tried a new flash card, nothing works.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

If the viewer is working fine, then it is not the same CCD problems. If you sent this in to Canon for repair, I am sure they will charge you for it.

Trying to connect a canon powershot SD1300 is to my Dell desktop and the computer is not recognizing that the camera is connected and powered on.

Having gone three months without a response to my query, I assume my suggestion to use a card reader solved the problem.

When i switch on lens comes out and opens but

One of three things. First try pressing the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. If that didn't correct the problem, read on.
Second potential issue, if your camera's a Canon, and if your camera is in the following list, it's likely a CCD problem. Please see this link.
Applicable cameras include: A60, A70, A75, A80, A85, A95, A300, A310, S1 IS, S60, S230, S400, S410, S500, SD100, SD110, IXUS V2/V3/300/400/430/500/II/IIs, IXY Digital 200a/300a/320/400/450/500/30/30a
But if your camera was not listed above, A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).
To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

ERR99 and not taking any photos.

So you're saying the camera works fine with another lens, just not with the 18-55. Try cleaning the contacts where the lens and the camera body meet with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol.

Digital camera quite working

Check out the pins in the base of the card chamber- are any missing or bent? Next check out Mirror action- is it working? Try to get onto the Olympus Tech Support team. If it is broken I think a repair will not be an option- the cost if possible will be well on the way to the next camera This is my camera too - lovely under rated beasts

Digital Camera Nikon Coolpix 5700

The symptom you describe is caused by a stuck shutter inside your lens. When the shutter is stuck closed no light can reach the image sensor and the result is a black image on the screen and on photos. You can try GENTLY tapping the camera on a hard surface to free the stuck shutter, but be extremely cautious because this can easily further damage the camera. If that does not work you will have to get the unit serviced or replace it. Check with Nikon for recalls or service bulletins. You can find good repair services online as well. This model has had problems with the switch block assembly. The shutter control is a two stage switch which gets stuck and attempts to fire the shutter when the camera is powered on. This is not a very serious problem and is easily resolved by a qualified technician. Replacing the switch block takes a bit of skill and should be done by a Canon service facility. Good Luck my friend Joe Weibel

Blank Screen and faulty shutter blades

I found out the hard way that you should never use alkaline batteries in a Digital Camera. I thought my camera had a fundamental flaw (power kept going off whenever I tried to take a photo or record a video and the shutter blades half closed) even though it was only 2 months old. I nearly wrote it off but all along the problem was that I was using alkaline batteries, which incidentally were enclosed with the camera in the box!! Once I switched to NiMH (Nickel) batteries the camera worked fine and the fault completely vanished! These NiMH batteries are avaiable in most electrical shops i.e currys/comet in the UK. They must be charged before use. They are more expensive than alkaline batteries (£8-£9 for 4) but as they are rechargable they last a long time.
