SOURCE: canon powershot g5 - battery charge

Take out the battery and put it back and than recharge again. Some times in case of G5 it happens that the camera battery is not properly charged and the indicator shows that its fully charged (i.e. Green light) In such cases battery need to be taken out and than put back again and recharged

Zain

SOURCE: Powershot A720 Date Function

Do you want date/time stamp?

If so, you will have to be in postcard resolution.
To achieve this you will put your camera in shooting mode, hit function/set button, arrow down to bottom left corner where you will see L, M, S and postcard modes. Select the one that looks like a postcard.

Hit function/set to get out of there. Now hit menu and go to setup menu (tools) and arrow down to date stamp and make sure it's on date and time.

images shot in this resolution will look good as 4x6 prints, but should not be printed any larger or they will look pixelated, not good quality for larger prints.

Either that or you can add date and time in the Zoombrowser program that came with your camera should you need larger prints with date/time stamp.

I hope this helps!

SOURCE: Remove battery door of Canon A630

This is an old A70, but the way it's done is very similar as I don't think this has changed much over the years. It's a pin design that you have to push out with a stiff unbent paperclip. You push in on the side with the smaller hole. To access the pin you'll need to remove the front and back case covers. See the following:

SOURCE: Canon Powershot SX110is: problem with the batteries

Make sure you are using Lithium batteries. Alkaline batteries will go dead immediately in this camera. I've tried it.

My Canon PowerShot A720 IS will not take a photo, when I press the button, nothing happens. I've tried taking the battery out and putting them back in and that seemed to help for a while, but now nothing...

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points (in your case, based on your statement of the battery removal, recommend spending some extra time inspecting the battery contact points of the camera), and micro switches that are located on the battery door and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

Canon PowerShot A720 IS - "Lens error, restart camera".

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here:

    Time and date resetting constantly...

This camera has a separate date battery. Lift up the small rectangular cover next to the main batteries. A small CR1220 battery maintains the date. Replace it and you should be OK. I just discovered this on the Canon web site.

Manual for my Powershot A720 IS.

Log onto www.powershot.com and in the canon consumer search bar at top type in a720. On recommended links, click the first one which will be the a720 homepage. Once you see the image of the camera and 7 tabs below, click on drivers and downloads.

Look under Guides and Manuals and you will find what you are looking for.

    Hope this helps!
