With the hardware installed you also need to insure that the drivers have been installed. You will need to use the software that came with it or use windows wireless zero configuration application with your wireless router.

Increase a signal with antenna

What makes you think you need an antenna with 20 dB of gain to get 300m with 2.4GHz?
If that's an RP-SMA connector on the card, try an (8 dBi) RE09P-RSP from l-com.com (about $40).

Driver installer doesn't install drivers. :S Gigabyte GN-WPKG

Hi,
The problem could be caused,as you are also missing the chip-set drivers for the motherboard. You need to download and install the chip-set drivers for the motherboard first. Then install the wireless card driver and it would solve the problem.
Sometimes the conflict is also caused, due to faulty installation of the os.
1. Remove the entries of the PCI, from the device manager. 2.Remove the wireless card from the computer.
3.Restart the computer. 4.Shut down again, 5.Put the card back in and then install it one more time.
