Is the LifeChat Lx-3000 Compatible with Mac Os X?

I'm not opening the package till I can find out.  We have 2 computers, the windows desktop, and a Mac laptop which my wife uses most for her school work, and that is what we need the headset for.
I need to know soon.
I did not find Mac drivers on the website.

Hi,
I bought the headset recently and on first plug-in --- nothing! But then I realized that I had to open Sound in System Preferences and select them as the output choice. Works fine, though I haven't had a chance to test it out fully. But it works!

Yes, the microphone from Microsoft is compatile with mac... It works so goooooood!

I too have a mavericks macbook and it is instantly recognised and works after a visit to system preferences

Headset isn't recognized by computer and audio doesn't go through headset
With the infamous Vista, try:
Start --> Control panel --> Hardware and sound --> Sound --> Audio devices admin [I have a Spanish OS, I hope it is the same in the English version], then assign as default device the headset.

With Skype and other sw, you have to specifically pick the lx-3000 as the device that will be used as audio device (and the same has to be done to use the mic).

Pretty cumbersome....

Broken wire to my microphone on my lifechat lx-3000
You cant wire then directly there is a USB D-A chip that controls the headset converting to 1/8" mini plugs may work one for the mic and one stereo plug for the earcups
