I have used bunn coffee makers for years bought a new one . it has a problem' when making coffee it runs over, coffee grounds all over the counter and in the coffee. i am afraid my little grand kids will get burned if it runs over when they are around the counter. i didn't keep my box or receipts to return it because i was so confodent it would be all right i had never had a problem before with them. any help would be appreciated thank you

You will need to replace the cracked section. You should be able to find a local Bunn distributor for the part required. Have your serial number handy.
Firstly I would run a descaling solution through the tank and then make a few pots of coffee without using any coffee grounds. This will flush the sytem through.
Coffee overflowing onto the counter is a common complaint found in response to many automatic drip coffee makers. The following are potential solutions that can be used to rule out "operator error" vs. a defect or malfunction:
1. Don't overfill the basket with grinds.
2. Ensure you are using the correct grind for an automatic drip coffee maker, neither too fine nor too course. (See instruction manual.)
3. Do not overfill with water. Use the carafe to pour water into the reservoir. This is because a "cup" in coffee terms is defined as 6 oz, not 8 oz.
4. Make sure the filter cone/basket clicks into place and that the carafe is centered and pushed all the way in.

8. Clean your machine with vinegar or as instructed by your user manual at least three times per year, more if your water supply is hard. A properly cleaned machine is less likely to suffer a burned out heating element, to take too long to brew, to produce "off" tasting coffee, or to clog and overrun the filter basket as the water runs through the grinds.
9. Ensure that the coffee machine is sitting level on the counter.
there's probably a 'silicon rubber' hose that feeds hot water to the 'grounds basket'- it may be loose, or damaged. is it leaking water, or coffee?? we have a bunn 8-cup, which has a pre-heated water tank that brews a pot in about 3 min. energy waster, but when you need coffee, you need coffee!!! is your filter holder properly centered? is the carafe lid hole clean and un-obstructed? if it's leaking water, and not too costly to replace- you may consider replacing it with a new one! good luck!
You may be grinding the coffee to fine making the draining a little slower. There's something called a fast flow filter that may help also. Also, make sure that you aren't jamming the filter down to partially block the drain hole ensuring that it is freely draining out unobstructed

When you are grinding your own beans or use certain types of coffee, you need to use a flow restrictor sprayhead. If you will contact customer service, a flow restrictor sprayhead can be sent out to you at no charge and this will eliminate the problem you are having.
