Possibilities:
1) One of your USB devices have faulted, or is causing a resource conflict (or similar)
-- Remove all USB devices, and reboot.
2) Your USB chip/ports have been damaged.
-- Find a spare HardDisk or bacjup your data and re-install Windows and see how that goes.
3) Your Power Supply Unit (PSU) isnt supplying enough power to your PC (usually caused by a Video card upgrade). Try a more powerful PSU ... 400watts should do the trick
4) Bad memory (RAM) can cause wierd problems. run memtest for an hour to make sure your memory is ok

It seems that many people are still getting the 'USB Device not Recognized' problem from time to time. Unfortunately there is no easy fix.
Firstly, it's recommended that you make sure every one of your motherboard drivers are completely up-to-date, but you probably already knew that.
In XP, after a USB port isn't used for a long while the USB driver built into the OS sets the OHCI controller to suspend. When you plug a device back in, it can sometimes fail to 'wake up' properly. This problem was supposedly fixed in SP1 but there is a related registry hack that may still be able to help.
Run regedt32.exe and navigate to;
HKEY_LOCAL_Machine\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Usb
Create the Usb key if it doesn't already exist. Under this key, create a new DWORD value called DisableSelectiveSuspend and give it a value of 1. Then restart the PC.
A long shot perhaps, but I recall having similar problems with a USB hub built into my Microsoft keyboard and adding this key seemed to solve it. It wouldn't hurt in trying .
Alternatively, removing all entries relating to USB in Device Manager and all associated USB drivers will force XP into refreshing the USB driver stack.
Begin by unplugging all USB devices, then use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel to uninstall any USB driver software. Next, boot up into safe mode and go to Device Manager. Once in device manager make sure 'Show hidden devices' is checked under the View menu. Uninstall all device entries in this order;
1. USB peripheral devices (printers etc.)
2. HID and/or Composite USB (Human Interface Devices) You're using PS/2 input devices so you may not have this entry.
3. USB Root Hub(s)
4. USB Host Controller(s) (Universal or Enhanced Host Controllers)
Then boot back into Windows (not safe mode) and it should populate the Root Hubs & Host controllers again. Proceed to plug your USB devices back in, starting with your powered hub. Be aware that most USB printers and scanners need to have their drivers installed first before you plug them in.
Hopefully some of this may be of help, let us know how you get on.

USB port incorrectly set, very rare to have port problem but every printers usb port is uniquely identified to computer unlike lpt ports. Disconnect usb, Delete driver, download complete driver package from epson site, run software then connect printer when instructed

I cant use usb printer to get print out from dos base softwear

If you are using a NT based Windows (ex. win nt, win 2000, win xp, etc...) you could try sharing the printer than MAP it as a network printer and direct it to a virtual LPT port with a DOS command ex: net use lpt2: \\ComputerName\SharedPrinterName /yes

Than setup the DOS software to print on LPT2 it should worke, i've done this many many times

Note: if you absolutely have to use LPT1 dont forget to change the physical LPT 1 port in Windows hardware manager to something els so it do not conflict with the virtual one

Good luck!

Motorola WPS870G print server

just bought this relic? box? and expect it to work in W10? what?
tell all connections and all related equipment (gear) and OS run.
we can not ever guess others networks. wired or wifi.
not.

MOTOROLA WPS870G Wireless Print Server 802.11b / g, RJ45 LPT, USB 2.0 a true Blast form the PAST 2005 for worse, older printers.
LEGACY relics, I can do.
the manual is here. free 115 pages,
the topic first is , what printers work here, not told yours.
the box new has CD with XP driver, and are useless now.
so what then>? you never said XP or up to W11 use.
it really is a print server, that is for sure and wireless so you can print from any wireless PC to the unstated parallel LPT printer of old
page 8 quote

"Windows IPP Client software is supplied for Windows 98SE and Windows ME computers. IPP support is built-in to Windows 2000 and Windows XP
computers."

the rear of the PS, has LPT 25 pin (dinosaur) and USB that
runs wired printers this way, but I bet newer printers USB fail here.
easy as pie (eating cherry pie slang)
NO PRINTER TOLD BUT I GUESS USB PRINTER AS LPT ARE ALL DEAD NOW, RIP ,LPT 25PIN PRINTERS.
the manual covers both things wifi setup and USB printer and test print pages.
my guess is your setting up the PS , wifi pages and it fails?
read page 15 and for sure direct printer app that is useless today xp apps are that.
the wifi on the SP must be set as a fixed IP in your home router, using mac address of the SP. MAC = IP , RESERVED. FIXED
OR TROUBLE MAX.
THE IP MUST NOT CHANGE, PER PAGE 15 TOLD

"the printer must be on the the allow list

?My printer doesn't show up in the list of available printers during installation.
If you are using an USB-enabled print driver to connect your printer to the Wireless Print
Server, you might need to download and use an Ethernet-enabled print driver. You will also
need to use IP Printing (LPR) if you use an Ethernet print driver. See
PAGE 73
WPS870G
LPR Printing
Setup"

step one, after used PS is reset. fully
the wifi must be setup wifi. page 49

How to redirect lpt print to canon lbp-3000 printer

Here's what you need to do. ON the computer that you want to associate that LPT1 port, you need to know the name of the computer, and the share name of the printer. In this case, I am assuming you have the Canon LBP-3000 physically connected to this system running the FoxPro program.

Step one: Find the computer name. Click on START SETTINGS CONTROL PANEL. Double click SYSTEM. Click on the tab COMPUTER NAME and under FULL COMPUTER NAME, write down the name. Click OK to exit the window.

Step two: Click on START, SETTINGS CONTROL PANEL. Double click PRINTERS AND FAXES. Right click on the Canon LBP-3000 printer and click on SHARE. In the window that opens, click on SHARE THIS PRINTER and take note of the name in SHARE NAME: and write it down. Click on OK to share the printer and exit out of the wizard.

Step three: Click on START, RUN. Type CMD in the box and click OK. in the black window, type NET USE LPT1 \\COMPUTER NAME\SHARE NAME

Follow with RETURN or ENTER and you should be good.
