Cant get my cda 9855 in sattelite mode - Sirius Starmate ST2 Satellite Radio Receiver

Are you running your rear speaker through an amplifier? If so, you are probably using the blue wire (power antenna remote turn on) instead of the blue/white wire (amp remote turn on). The blue wire turns off when leaving tuner mode, thus turning off the amplifier.

go to a station you wish to save, then choose a preset number from 1 to 6. press that button for 3 to 5 seconds. the station should be locked into that preset number.

when mine does that it is down to the connection of the face to the head unit, push it firmer or remove and replace. it may be that the connection is worn.

Blackout Display Mode: When the Blackout mode is activated, the display turns off to reduce power consumption. The additional power made available by turning off the display helps enhance sound quality. If a button is pressed during the Blackout mode, the display will illuminate for 5 seconds before blacking out again. Blackout Mode On and Off (CDA-9855 only) When Blackout mode is turned on, the display will turn off to reduce power consumption. This additional power enhances the sound quality. Press and hold FUNC. for at least 2 seconds to activate the blackout mode. The display will turn off. • If any button on the unit is pressed during the blackout mode, the function will be displayed for 5 seconds to show the operation before returning to Blackout mode. To cancel Blackout mode, press and hold FUNC. for at least 2 seconds.

there is only one made for that particular unit.

Chips fail, even for the best of us! If the preamp outputs are still fine, you can purchase a small 4 channel from Alpine for 100-150. About the same as a repair yet cleaner power. Check EBAY there's always good deals to be had!

There is an option in the unit itself to turn off the internal amplifier. If you push the 'menu' button, then go to the setup/settings menu, and then i believe it was under the 'general settings' tab. there's a option called INT IC or something. Make sure that is turned on.

It's possible the stereo is in some sort of "demo" mode. To verify this setting, go to Menu-->Demo and set it to "Off".

yep it sucks but you have to purchase the KCA-420,but its worth it.
