Hello Advisors, I need real help and information. I just got a new Maytag washer MVWC 300 VWO. What temperature can I expect in the maschine on the "hot-cycle"? My hot water heater and hot water supply is set at 85° C, which is about 170 F. The hot water mixes with cold water when I start the machine in the "Hot-Cycle" and I cannot do anything about it. The wamest I get in the washing machine is between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius, which is about 90 to 100 F. I cannot get the laundry clean that way and my wife is even much more upset than I. Kind Regards Karl Post Help please

The hot water should be as hot as the inlet temp water.
170degrees. There is no internal heater to increase the water temp.

Please check that the hot water supply valve is turned on.
Check the hot water inlet hose is not kinked.

Also - remove the hot water hose and make sure the shipping plug from the hose hookup was removed.

If the hot water supply is on, and there is verified hot water coming from the hose (into a bucket) it will be time for some warranty work - as your mixing valve solenoid (hot side) has failed.

My Maytag Bravos 300 will not power up.

Maytag Bravos 300 is a series of Washers and Dryers, but none specified. 'make model (what it is)' in all questions please. Turn the power off at the breaker for 15 minutes and that will be a type of reset on either washer or dry. Washers sometimes have button combinations to effect a reset.

Google

make (full NUMERICAL model) reset

If that doesn't work, you need a service call. having said that, the washers appear to have a known issue!

What do I need to do to correct the error code F24 on my Maytag front loader washing machine. I’m a 70 year old woman with a social security income. Help!!!!

The F24 error indicates that the water temperature sensor is not giving a reading or not giving the expected value. Unplug the washer for at least 30 minutes to reset the control board (CCU). This could be as simple as one of the two wires to the sensor coming loose or that the sensor has failed. For washers that can heat the incoming water, the heating element can fail. There could also be a problem with the incoming water flow or the temperature of the water. In a few cases, the water temperature sensor error can be related to foreign objects in discharge pump trap. Checking the area called the coin trap is not a bad idea.

Unplug the washer before checking the temperature sensor. The sensor is located at the bottom rear of the washer tub on most Maytag front-load washers. The resistance across the sensor can be checked with an Ohm Meter. There should be a diagram in the washer (inside the control panel area) with the expected resistance. Make sure that the wiring harness is tightly connected. Checking that the wiring doesn't have a break between the sensor and the control board - again this is a resistance check. The resistance across the element should be checked. Depending on your skill level, you may want someone else to check the resistance and the wiring.

Also check that the incoming water temperature is in the correct range. The manual for the Epic Z models gives a temperature range of 23°F to 217°F. One thing to check is if the one of the incoming water lines is clogged or damaged. Close the washer shut-offs and take off the water hoses. Check the filters for debris and clean out anything you find. Connect the water hoses to the plumbing. Put a bucket below the hoses and open the shut-offs one at a time. See if there is restricted water flow on either side. You can use a thermometer to check the water temperature from while you test the water flow. You may want to replace the washer inlet hoses. Some anti-flood hoses will restrict the water flow if there is a leak.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model of the washer for the parts diagram and specifics for your washer.

Maytag bravo quiet series 300: Stopped at spin:

We have a Maytag Bravo Quiet Series 300 washing machine, the door latch is broken. I have the replacement part ( the locking mechanism) but I need can not figure out how to get the top of the washer to flip up to give me access to top front of the machine to remove the old part and replace it with the new.

How do I flip back the top (not the door) of this machine?
