SOURCE: transfer my video from panasonic sdr - h40
try to use USB to plug your device to your computer. make sure that you have an installed driver for your camcorder to recognize your device on your pc. all brand new camcorder came with an installation software cd. now your ready to transfer your video to your computer. use any movie maker application like ulead movie maker, nero movie maker or windows movie maker edit it and save it. burn it to your vcd or dvd burner to play on your dvd player. if you dont have a driver i will find one for you. hope that helps!

SOURCE: i can't transfer video to my pc from a panasonic SDR-H40
Same problem as everyone that probably has one of these cameras and not the exact computer the software was designed to run on. I got NERO DVD burn software and am now able to see the camera hard drive and recognize my videos. I have Windows XP but as long as you get the right NERO software your troubles will probably be forgotten. After learning of doing it like this I'm really glad the Panasonic software didn't work because I'm sure I have a much better handle on how I want my videos burned to DVD.

get a capture card, an AV cord ( red, yellow and white cord) and record it onto the computer. This will push the date and time stamp onto the video. There really isnt any other quick solution :-(, unless you sport 800$ for a highend camera, then all harddrive cameras have this problem.
