Ok so it wont boot at all. Have you recently changed anything? Take the cover off the computer and use canned air to blow off the entire computer. There should be absolutely no dust or dirt in the entire computer. If it gets clogged up it will overheat and not boot! Make sure its clean! If you havent messed with it at all and it still wont be it could be dead, electrically friend from a surge (the entire computer or just one part not letting it boot). I would take it to a local repair shop and ask for an estimate. Usually the estimate runs about one hour of labor or 50-80 dollars an hour. dont pay more! Some places even do free estimates. Hope that helps!

use F2, F10, or DELETE to open bios. Some machines need F10 first then shows mini menu, at that moment we have to press F2 to open bios.

Cannot access the bios on my brothers toshiba satellite l40-18z

On toshiba laptops you use the F10 key to get into your BIOS SETUP. The generally combinations of BIOS Setup is:

1) DEL (delete key)

2) F2 (F2 Key)

3) F10 (F10 Key)

4) Ctrl + F10 key

Ive just bought a hp 620 notebook pentium dual core t4 i got it all set up and running an hour later the screen was all fuzzy and rolling and cant get anything please can you tell me what is wrong ?

Hi,

The video driver of your laptop may be failing. You just need to update it if restarting the computer doesn't fix it. Check HP website and download the on compatible with your operating system.

If this doesn't work, try to check BIOS (by pressing F2..F10..depends on what key is designed for it..before windows loads up) if you still have the same problem. If yes, get a replacement, the LCD inverter or LCD cable may be faulty. But if this will not appear in the BIOS, the video card may be faulty.

Hope this helps.

Screen going colours lines up down

Hi,

You attach an external monitor to see if you get the same display as you get on the laptop screen. If have the same display, you may need to update the video card driver of the unit.
If this doesn't work, check BIOS by pressing either F10..or..F2..or..Del..(depending on the key designed to access the BIOS on the laptop. If you see the some lines, you are having an LCD problem.

Hope this helps.

Suddenly my e-machine monitor stopped working. After unplugging the pc then turning it on, the screen is black with the e-machine logo. It also says F2 and F10 (bios and I forget.) What do I do/

It isn't the monitor at fault here, the boot stops at BIOS screen because the BIOS cannot find the OS - either it was corrupted beyond access (try a Repair install if you have important data on it, otherwise just do a full reinstall - much safer) or the hard disk has died (replace it and reinstall).
