Good Afternoon Tad, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

First remove the bucket to reach the filter of your Frigidaire dehumidifier, FAD504DUD. When you locate the filter, pull it downwards. The filter can be clean by either washing it with clean water or using a vacuum cleaner extension hose. If you use clean water, please allow the filter to dry. Once the filter is reinstalled then replace the bucket. To extinguish the light simply press the FILTER button and your dehumidifier will resume normal operations.

Hope this helps!

How do I clean the filter on a GE Sahara 25 dehumidifier?

First remove the bucket. Easily clean the filter w/warm soapy water either under lightly running water or carefully gently clean w/towel. Tap lightly to remove any excess water. Place filter up to air dry which shouldn't take long. After putting filter back in, press. & hold the clean filter reminder button for at least 3 seconds.

How do I access the filter on my LG (LHD659EBL) dehumidifier, how do I clean the filter, and how often should it be cleaned?

To find and remove the filer. First, turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Then remove the water bucket. The filter frame & handle will be located at the top of the bucket holder just behind the front louvers. If you have never removed and cleaned the filter, it may have a piece of plastic tape on it, which was used for shipping. Remove the tape & discard it. Pull the filter frame's tab handle straight down and remove the filter. It can either be vacuumed or if it's really dirty, washed in warm water and a mild dish washing liquid. Rinse thoroughly and shake off any access water. Allow it to dry completely, before reinstalling it. Never operate the unit without the filter in place. Doing so could cause damage to the unit.

Clean the filter at least once every two weeks.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

The filter is getting ice on it when I turn it on.

If you haven't already, clean the filter after it has thawed. In addition, the coils behind the filter may need cleaning.

Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it. Remove the filter and the upper half of the front of the cabinet. Clean the cools with warm water and dish washing liquid. Rinse with a damp sponge, dry the coils and apply a light coating of WD40. Reassemble the cabinet, plug the unit in, turn it back ON and take it for a test drive. Be sure to clean the filter at least once every 2 weeks.

Hi Fixya: The Filter on my Danby DDR7009REE Room dehumidifier never seems to accumulate any dust. It is supposed to need to be cleaned every two weeks by vacuuming or soaking, but the filter is always...

How often does the unit run? Does the fan run when the unit is suppose to be running(as the fan pulls the air thru the filter). If every thing operates correctly and the filter is in the right location on the unit then all I can say is that you keep a clean house. Personally I only need to clean the air filter on my dehumidifier about once a summer. I wouldn't be overly concerned if it isn't getting very dirty.

Should I clean or replace the air filter?

You can wash the filter with water, no problem. However, I would recommend replacing the filter every 3 to 4 months depending on how much you use the dehumidifier. The exposure to constant moisture will cause the filter to grow mold over time.
