How do I check the front fork fluid on my 2001 yamaha 650 classic

Idoubt your fork fluid levels have anything to do with uneven tyre wear,depending on where you live dictates how your tyre wears,if you live in uk then you tend to turn right more than left therefore wearing the tyre more on the right and reverse this for anywhere they drive on the wrong side of the road.tyre pressures are important... to check the fork fluid level you need to drain the oil into a measuring jug,compare result to manufacturers recommendation.if you are not mechanically competent do not attemt this as you may get hurt as the fork internals are under load from a spring

The front tire on my 1500 classic wears badly on one side. Bearings and fork oil levels are good.

The real wheel is likely not centered. Check the rear wheel and carefully measure the distances from the axle to a fixed point they need to be even. If they're not you will get the uneven tire wear you describe.

Front tire wearing on left side

First, did u by the bike new? sometimes uneven tire wear is a sign that the frame or frontend might be tweeked, secondly, check the fork tubes sliders for uneven wear as well. also check the front and rear tire alignment with a lazer style pointer, they should be dirrectly inline with eachother. make sure u factor in tire width to ur measurements. Sounds like the bike may have been dropped at one time. May have a bent upper or lower triple clamp, maybe even a bent fork leg. hope this points u in the right dirrection

How do I remove heavy oxidation from front forks on my 650 dargstar

forks have a clearcoat on them use a gel type paint remover on them to remove the clearcoat and they'll look like new

I have an 04 boulevard s50 with a front end wobble. all the bearings are tight and tire pressure is good. Any ideas? mikeytmh

Check the tire itself, out of round, uneven wear, it could also be out of balance, also check all your front end nuts and bolts and that your forks are aligned correctly!

Fork fluid

If there is no fluid on the fork legs or the wheel the fluid very likely isn't leaking and is OK.
If there is fluid the fork legs need servicing at which time the fluid will be drained and replaced.
