go to hp site enter your model number(service tag if it has one) check for bios updates if one available use the hp bios update program. you may have to download a small program to allow this.will also check for any other updates for your hardware.

The embedded video chip in this pc or the optional add-on video cards that were offered with it are extremely old models, that are just Dx8 compatible. Win 7 need a video card that is at least Dx9.2 compatible = you will need to upgrade your video with something like

go to the hp compaq site search for your pc model it should be accurate fin the new bios and download it and just run the bios update and restart the PC your bios will get updated but make sure to give the proper information for the model of the pc
Go to www.hp.com on the top you can find option " Support & Drivers " under Step 1 put a check on Download drivers and software under Step 2 put the product name / number of the pc select the operating system of the pc and download the latest version of bios Hope it works for you All the best!!!
