Most likely, a bad motherboard. Here is a link to the Dell troubleshooting tool for this model system:

From your description, it sounds like a motherboard failure. Generally about $100 on Ebay.

Hardware failure, most likely in the motherboard. Take the laptop to a repair shop for an in-depth testing. Beware, the repair will be expensive.

SOURCE: I have a dell d600 laptop. it won't boot up at all. if you push power button, the caps lock light blinks a few times and then it shuts off

Your power supply is probably dying. You can bring it in to a pc shop and have them test it or you can test it yourself with a psu tester like one of these:

I have a separate fax line for my Canon MX310. It goes into fax mode but noting happens. I also cannot receive faxes.

The only reason to call the phone company is if you're not getting a dial tone on that line. Otherwise, have you shut down the printer and tried to reset it to factory defaults. To do that, follow the instructions below:
  • 1 Switch the Canon MX310 off using the "Power" button, then push the "Stop/Reset" button on the control panel. Hold the button down for about five seconds.
  • 2 Push the "Power" button while holding "Stop/Reset." Hold down both buttons for five seconds.
  • 3 Release "Stop/Reset" while holding down the "Power" button.
  • 4 Push "Stop/Reset" twice while continuing to hold the "Power" button. Release the "Power" button. The power light will turn green.
  • 5 Once the light is steady green, push "Stop/Reset." Wait about three seconds and push it again. Wait three more seconds and push it one final time, for a total of three times. The power light will turn orange.
  • 6 Push the "Power" button, then lift the MX310 cover open.
  • 7 Remove both ink cartridges and wait 10 seconds. Replace the cartridges and close the MX310 cover. Wait 30 seconds.
  • 8 Push the "Power" button. Wait a few seconds to allow the printer to fully power down, then switch the Canon MX310 back on using the "Power" button.

Is not working more

Switch the printer off.

Press and hold the green button on your printer and turn the printer on. You will see that the lights flash for a moment and then turn off. After a few seconds, the attention light will turn on followed by ready light and the green light. Keep pressing the green button. In a few seconds, the attention light and the ready light will turn off.

Push the toner rotate button while you continue pressing the green button. As you briefly push the toner button, you will see the light flashing. Release both the toner button and the green button.

Repeatedly push the red button (cancel button). Now all the working lights on the printer will turn off.

Open and close the lid of HP printer once. The light will start blinking.

Press the green button. Your HP toner cartridge chip will be reset.

Acer aspire netbook wont turn on flashing white light on power button

Did you try to flash a new BIOS? If so, you might be in trouble and
need probably to reflash the new BIOS. (Look at Acer site for info).
But anyway try:

1. Push and hold the Power On switch for 4-6 seconds.
Try to Power On again.

2. If this does not work, do a Power Reset:
- Disconnect powersupply cable and pull out the battery.
- Hold the Power button for 60 seconds a few times.
- Place the battery and powercupply cable.
- Try to Power On.

Power light flashing and red light on button 2 will not print

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. There are two step-by-step procedures to resolve the issue—

Procedure 1

  1. Turn off the printer and ensure that the print head is at its home location and locked in place as normal;
  2. Power off the printer at the wall or by removing the power cable for at least 20 seconds;
  3. While you restore power to the printer at the wall socket or by reinserting the cable, if the lights come back on straight away, the printer’s power switch was ‘on’ - switch it off and return to step 1;
  4. Hold down the paper-feed button and the button with the ink-drops next to it, and then turn on the printer, still holding the buttons down;
  5. When the paper-out LED flashes, release the buttons;
  6. Press and hold the Cleaning button, until several lights flash - this will take a few seconds then release the button;
  7. The printer will now attempt to reset, including resetting the EPROM memory and running a short (about 10 seconds) cleaning cycle.

Procedure 2

  1. Turn off the printer and ensure that the print head is at it’s home location and locked in place as normal;
  2. Hold down the paper feed button only;
  3. Turn on the printer;
  4. As the paper feed light starts flashing, release the button;
  5. Immediately hold down the ink-drops button for some 10-20 seconds or until the printer springs into life;
  6. Allow printer to complete its processing then turn it off for a few seconds and turn it again on.

By following the above any one of the step-by-step procedure, the printer will start printing normally.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee
