are there any warning lights or message if not could be that print job has an error in file. check computers and clear any print job that is in que then turn copier off and back on and try a different file to print or try print a test page from printer proprieties.
Has it worked before? Many of these newer printers can print what are called Postscript documents, and you may have a Postscript driver instaled instead of the regular driver, or both and have selected the wrong driver when sending the jobORyou have an internal circuit board that'sgone bad
To work around this issue, reduce the complexity of your PostScript print job. For example, set the TrueType Font Download option to Automatic, Outline, or Bitmap as follows:
In Control Panel, open the Printers (or Printers and Faxes) folder.
Right-click your PostScript printer, and then click Properties.
Click Printing Preferences, click Layout, and then click Advanced.
Double-click PostScript Options, and then click TrueType Font Download Option.
In the True Type Font Download Option box, click Automatic. If Automatic is already selected, click Outline or Bitmap.
Close the Printer Properties dialog box, and then close Control Panel.
This is a corrupted Postscript error.
Possible solutions are, reload up to date driver and/or firmware.
Go to Xerox website address below for drivers and firmware.

This could also be a program specific problem, try printing from another software package.
Finally, you could try an NVRAM reset. Go to 'Troubleshooting', 'Service Tools',
'Reset NVRAM'. WARNING, before performing an NVRAM reset, print out a configuration page.
'Information', 'Information Pages', 'Configuration Page'. This print out will give you all the
printers settings, including your network settings, which will be lost through the reset.
You will need to re input them through 'Printer Setup', 'Connection Setup', 'TCPIP'.
Hope this helps.
49 errors are usually related to the jet direct network card which may need to be replaced. But if only happens from one user or when printing one particular document or from one particular program then you may have a driver or software conflict.
FROM THE SERVICE MANUAL
W2 INVALID PERS:
The job was not printed because the requested personality,
such as PostScript, was not installed. Install the language in
which the files are sent, together with enough memory to
support that language.
I SUGGEST CHECK IF YOU GOT THE POSTSCRIPT INSTALLED
Frequently you can clear that code by disconnecting and reconnecting the plugs to the document feeder/scanner and processor. Mostly the molex connector that runs from the scanner to the side of the machine by the power cord. Mounted sideways. If that doesn't cure your problem then most likely you have a electronics module problem. If you don't have a maintenance agreement, you can buy a printer cheaper then you can replace that module.
hello
the printer paper pick-up rollers are bad. this why you caanotuse the pick tray.
the solution now is to set the printer to default and clear allstuff off memory.
read the instruction below:
LaserWriter 12/640 PS: IBM PC or Compatible Troubleshooting
This article explains IBM PC or Compatible Troubleshooting.
A message on the screen says the printer can't print.
If you get such a message, try the following steps.
Make sure that the printer is turned on.
Check the network or parallel cables.
Make sure that the PostScript printer driver has been installed.
Nothing is printed; no paper comes out of the printer.
If you don't get any response from the printer when you try to print a document, try the following steps:
Check the Installed Printers list to see that your printer is selected.
Try printing the document again, but choose Download PostScript Error Handling in the Printer Setup PostScript Options dialog box.
Check the Paper Out light. If it is on, add paper and replace the paper cassette. If it is blinking, make sure the paper cassette is securely in place.
Check for a paper jam.
Check the printer cables.
Check the position of the port communication switch. The port may have been turned off or the Interpreter settings may not be correct.
Reset the communications settings to their factory default values by setting the communication switch to the Reset (out) position. Turn the printer off and back on again. Set the communication switch to the Normal (in) position.
Turn the printer off and back on. Check the startup page.
Reinstall the printer driver.
For Windows 95 users, check the following additional item:
Open the Printer folder, select the printer, and click Properties. click the PostScript tab and click the Advanced button. Make sure that ASCII data and "Send CTRL+D after job" are selected.
For Windows 3.1 users, check the following additional item:
Open the Printer Control panel, select the printer, and choose Setup. Select the PostScript tab in the Properties dialog box. Make sure that Protocol Options is set to Default if using the parallel port, or None if printing via NetWare.
Sometimes Printing the First Page Takes Longer than I Expect
The LaserWriter 12/640 PS automatically goes into an energy-saving mode after it's been idle for a while. When you print while it's in this mode, the printer takes about a minute to warm up before it can print the first page.
The printer is properly connected and configured, but printing is garbled or displays unwanted characters.
Check the communication switch and make sure that the Interpreter is set to the correct value. If you are printing a PostScript document, the Interpreter mode should be PostScript or AutoSelect.
