Had the tv on running fine then it turned itself off. Now all I get is 3 blinking lights on the power light. Took off the back. Lifted the board. Looks like some brown marks (burn marks?) around the solder pins of the convergence ICs attached to the heat sinks. Have one of the blue resistors (R7014) gone grey in colour. I assume this means it is burned out. From everything I have read, it would indicate the convergence ICs (stk-392-110) have to be replaced due to overheating as well as the burned out resistor. Just want a double confirmation before i go and buy everything I need. Thanks
Sounds like a bad power supply my mother has one done the same thing we found out he power supply went bad $125 to fix so we junked it and she bought another TV

Can you check that location number again The parts list doesnt list a capacitor with that location number. Is the item a resistor or a capacitor ? Let me know the other site I work at has full service manuals with part numbers and specs in them. I will be able to tell you the specs on your part

The color code is as follows: blk = 0; brn =1; red = 2; orange = 3; yellow = 4; Green = 5: blue = 6; violet=7; Grey = 8; white = 9
Unfortunately, if it is wirewound, they usually printed the resistor value on the body of the resistor. For sure it shouldn't be glowing. Sorry I can't be more help, but without a schematid, can't do much else

The resistor you see is a 2.2 ohm 2 watt resistor and is part of the convergence circuitry. I would replace R7011. 7012, 7013, 7014, 7015 & 7016 (all the same value) and the 2 STK392-110 Convergence ICs. This should fix your problem. You can find kits on-line for around $45 with the IC's and resistors together.

Yes, the three blinks is short protection. If one or more of the 2.2 ohm blue resistors is white in the middle one of the STK-392-110 chips got it.

I can also tell you the best place to get them and the instructions tell you everything you will need and how to do the repair in the best way.
They are based on the fact that I have fixed hundreds of these sets with the same problem you have.
