OfficeJet K60 All In One Problem:Aligning Cartridges

The problem is that the Office jet just keeps on saying:Press enter to align cartridges. I tried aligning them several times now, and each time the paper always appears with a green check for each different pattern that the printer printed. Please help I'm using up all my paper!

In the process of alignment there are two phases:

1. When the message comes to align the ink ..press ok and the page is printed out.

2. Once the page is printed then place the page on the scanner glass and tehn scan the same.

Follow these two steps in the same order and it will never give Align Ink Cart message again.

Aligning cartridges

take out the cartridges from the printer and then clean the contact points on the back of the cartridges with a clean piece of cloth. then unplug the power cable from the back of the printer and then press and hold down the # and 6 button from the front panel of the printer and then while pressing them down plug back the power cable back into the printer.
then insert the cartridges into the printer one by one and then the printer will start align the cartridges automatically.

After installing new ink cartridge. my multi purpose offic jet 6110 keeps saying "failed to align cartridges" though the cartridges seem to be installed properly. any ideas?

HI

try removing all the cartridges and restart the printer ,it will ask to install the cartridges, install them one by one and then see if it prints an alignment sheet,if it doesnt print it this way there is an option to align print cartridges in the printer drivers, goto the control panel--->printers and faxes--->rt click the printer icon and goto properties, under properties there should be an option for either maintenance or service this device button, when you click it ,it gives an option fro aligning the cartrdiges,

Printer keeps showing : Press enter to align cartridges. After doing this it then prints out an alignment page and shows: Alignment failed please: Press enter Alignment failed. This goes on and on. I have...

I have found that if I put in an old aligned page the printer reads it as and the alignment is accepted. As for the cancelled message being in the window, I have had this problem too. I've ignored it and selected the copy button and it took the command. The only problem with hitting cancel is that you cannot turn off your printer. Every time you do you have to repeat the aligning and cancellation process.

My printer wont print it keeps saying press enter to alein cartridge

I just noticed in the link to your forum item that additional text appears that does not appear in the item itself. It looks like you are getting a message telling you to press Enter to align your print carriage. This is a common step after you replace an ink cartridge. According to HP.com, here's what you are supposed to do:

"A message will appear in the front panel display requesting that the ink cartridges be aligned. Press Enter to start the cartridge alignment. Two pages will print. Following the instructions printed on the second page, place the first page on the scanner glass in the lower-right corner and then press Enter to finish aligning the cartridges. Remove the page from the scanner glass when complete".

The link to those instructions is as follows:

Replace the Print Cartridge

Just follow the instructions I posted above in italics and you should be good to go. Good luck.

Align page message

I have an OfficeJet 5780 and I have to do the alignment also. The allignment page it prints should have instructions on it. Just put it in the scanner and press "Enter". It needs to scan it to align the print heads.

This is from the manual on their website:

The HP Officejet prompts you to align cartridges every time you install or
replace a print cartridge. Aligning the cartridges ensures high-quality output.
To align the print cartridges when prompted:
1 Press Enter on the front panel.
An align cartridges (test pattern) page prints.
2 Load the align cartridges page face down in the ADF between the paperwidth
guides and press the Enter button again.
3 Recycle or discard the page.
