When what is open? Always keep the battery / memory card door closed. If it is not closed correct, the camera won't work as expected. To protect the file system, when someone should pul out the memory card, while the camera is accessing the memory, it will or shut down completely, or at least protect the memory card against writing to it.
Before opening the battery / memory card cover, always make sure the camera is completely shut off. That means no light is allowed to burn or flicker. The memory card can also be write protected (SD cards) when the lock switch is down like in the picture on the 32GB card.
Before you can make any picture the switch on the card should be up like on the 64GB card on the picture. camera shows write protect when open - 3635bcf4-65df-478c-a04d-92e341d15860.jpg

Nikon coolpix s7000 shows a black screen when wanting to take pictures how can i fix it ?

This camera does not have Manual Function. Your description sounds like the camera is OFF or needs to be RECHARGED. It seems dead to me - no power.

Camera won't take pictures it show protected card

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Camera shows error message saying "Memory card is protected (reset switch on memory card). This message does not clear when I reset the switch. Any suggestions?

The switch internal to the camera may be gummed up. But it can be easily "jogged" back open without opening the camera. You might try the toothpick or the tape fix listed in the troubleshooting steps of this blog article.

Write protect error olympus c 150 (cant get rid of read only)

Hi!

You might wanna check on your memory card. It could be that it is currently on write-protected mode. What you want to do is to check it now and then look for something like a push button. If its on the top position, push it downwards. Vice versa.

My camera is showing Write protect error

you have to now FORMAT the card in the camera. You must never modify the card in a computer - apart from opening/closing a folder or moving files.
