The F50 is called the N50 in some parts of the world.
The film loading instructions are on pages 10-11 of the N50 manual available from http://butkus.org/chinon/nikon/nikon_n50/nikon_n50.htm

SONY CAMERA RATE MODEL NO.N50

To my knowlege, Sony did not make an N50 camera. They did make a VCR, the SLV-N50 and ratings for that can be found here:

Nikon made an N50 film SLR beginning in 1994. 30 reviews on the Nikon N50 can be found here:

Hello,

here is what the F50 error code means and what must be checked when it comes up

Can you tell me how much a Nikon N50,serial #2254770 with 35 80mm lens is worth? Thank you

Around $100, depending on the condition of the camera and the lens. If you are trying to sell, remember that the N50 was called the F50 in the United States, so it might be wise to list it as a N50 and a F50.

What does 35-88mm mean in feet? This is a telephoto lens on a Nikon F50 SLR. Thank you. Amadeus

35mm is about 0.115 feet (a bit under an inch and a half). 88mm is about .289 feet (a bit under three and a half inches). They refer to the minimum and maximum focal lengths of the zoom lens. They have nothing to do with the distance from the camera to the subject.

The focal length of a lens is a measure of an optical quantity. It may or may not have anything to do with the physical length of the lens.

Can't load the film in the F80 leader won't take up

Open the camera-back. Look to the right where the take spool is there is a red mark. The leader should go to the red mark not any more. Now look at the inside of the camera-door, you should see close to the hinge a springy thingy-bob. If that is missing then when you close the door there is nothing to push on the film to seat it. On that spring is a chrome pin as well. Hope this helps you.

Nikon F50

It is possible to damage Nikon SLRs by attaching them to certain older pieces of equipment. There are two main issues that you may encounter.

There are a series of contacts inside the lens mount that must be in good condition for correct operation of the camera. If the older gear causes these to bend or break, the camera will require repair. Look inside the lens mount using a flashlight to see if there is any sign of scraping or that the contact pins look damaged.

Many Nikon SLRs have a ring on the outside of the lens mount that has a small tab sticking up. The ring is supposed to rotate freely and the tab should interface with part of a Nikkor lens of AI-S or AF vintage. Earlier non-AI-S lenses or accessories could compress the ring or break the pin or both. If you can get the ring to rotate freely again, you might be able to get the camera to function. If the tab is broken or the ring is stuck or both, your camera will need professional repair.
