SONY VAIO CMOS BATTERY LOCATION

I HAVE A VAIO LAPTOP FS660\W AND I NEED THE LOCATION OF CMOS BATTERY TO REPLACE IT.EVERY TIME THE LAPTOP RESTARTS OR SHUTS DOWN THE TIME AND DATE ARE CHANGED.THE TIME ZONE SETTINGS ARE CORRECT.

Correction...

The CMOS battery is located under the system board, and is not accessible from under the keyboard.

The keyboard has to be removed in order to change the CMOS batter, (another reason why I don't like Sony laptops.)

Below is the batter I just pulled from a user's VGN-FS660\W SONY VAIO CMOS BATTERY LOCATION - 892cbd5.jpg

    I also found it under the keyboard on my Sony Vaio PCG-7142L. I'd like to punch the engineer who designed this location. Thanks for the help.

    On my Vaio PCG-7A2L Laptop. Yes, CMOS battery is located Under Motherboard, under mouse touch pad. Have to remove MthrBd, to access. Cannot access from under Keybd.

The cmos battery looks like this .Note that you can access it by removing screws on keyboard side and lifting the keyboard upwards..

If you mean the cmos battery you will probably need to take the laptop apart - if you are lucky it may be under the keyboard - look at the screws on the back and see if any show symbols for keyboards.

Yes the cmos battery is on the motherboard.

Every motherboard that runs a computer has a backup battery to run the circuit while turned off. This battery runs the real-time clock (RTC) and is referred to as the CMOS battery. It should be located somewhere on the motherboard wich means pulling the computer completely apart which unless you know what you are doing may be a little difficult for some, but not inpossible.

Does not Start..
Possible power cable fault, hard to tell really, especially if you ran the laptop battery flat, but it may be a flat cmos (bios) motherboard battery, also check that the hibernate switch where you close your laptop lid is not stuck down as this will dissable power up.
