This board can be located at the front panel of the TV. You have to open the TV, to take it out. The infrared sensor can be located just behind the infrared window, whci can be located at the front panel of the TV. The sensor will look somewhat like this. SOURCE: samsung 5 series 40 remote not working

Testing remote control:
The remote control puts out IR (InfraRed) signal that human eyes cannot see, to find out if the remote is sending out the signal or not you just point the remote at the digital camera’s Lens (Digital Camera can detect IR), you should see flashing light on the camera’s screen when any one of the remote button is pushed. If you do see the flashing on the camera, then the problem is in the TV IR receiver or the main logic board; more troubleshooting with scope will be needed to look at the signals.

Location of the ir sensor on Toshiba regza

The location of the IR sensor on a Toshiba Regza TV can vary depending on the specific model of the TV. However, in general, the IR sensor can be found in one of the following places:
  • On the front of the TV: The IR sensor is often located on the front of the TV, usually near the bottom or the top of the TV.
  • On the side of the TV: The IR sensor may be located on the left or right side of the TV.
  • On the back of the TV: The IR sensor can also be located on the back of the TV, usually near the bottom or the top of the TV.
  • On the remote control: The IR sensor can also be located on the remote control.
To locate the IR sensor, look for a small, clear or black plastic window that receives the signals from your remote control, it could be labeled with a name like "IR" or "remote".
It is recommended to consult the TV's user manual or contact Toshiba customer service for more specific information on the location of the IR sensor on your specific model of the Regza TV.

Can the Ex link port be used to reset my Samsung TV?

This is a common problem with 3-year-old + Samsung 50-65 inch TV's. This advice is given with the pretext that you know how to be safe and use tools.
Locate the IR sensor on the front of the TV. Remove the stand and place it face down on a carpet. Be prepared to be able to leave it there for a few days as your replacement needs to ship. Remove all the screws from the rear panel to locate the IR or touch function/IR combo board. Carefully remove the board, get the board number that is located on the side you can not see without removing it. Since I do not know this number as there are different versions, this is a sample if what the IR board should look like. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41wWeOocaHL.jpg
Replace it with a new one. $30 max. Put it back together and you can control your TV again.

Remote won't work. Tried new batteries, reprogramming, etc. Universal Remote doesn't work either. LG #42PC5DC

Hi,
To confirmed if the remote control is working fine, aim the remote control sensor(IR emitter) directly to your cellphone camera. While pressing any button key on the remote control, you can see the flash of an infrared emitted by the remote control if it is working fine.

If you've confirmed that the remote control emitted an infrared but still the tv won't communicate with it, this is an indication of faulty IR sensor board of the TV. Check if there's an obstruction from the IR receiver in front. Keep away all of it, clean the plastic window of the IR receiver with soft clean cloth.
If the symptoms still persist, you have to replace the IR sensor board. Check the actual part no. of the board before ordering.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!

The remote control sensor on my new television does not work. I have tried several remote controls and none of them work. Is there a way I can fix this myself or do I need to wait for a technician to come...

Unfortunately, only remote can do.

If you have a philip screw driver, soldering iron and soldering lead at your home and have the guts to make the DiY, then, here is what you need to do.

Turn off the TV
On your tv, locate where the ir sensor (infrared sensor). Open the back cover of your television using the Philip Screw driver. Manage to access the small pc board where the ir sensor was attached. Examine closely the ir sensor board. Using your soldering iron and lead, try to resolder all the terminals in the ir sensor board.

After you resolder, then, return it back. And Turn on your televison.

Hope this helps!

LG 47LC7DF LCD TV Remote Sensor not working

IR senor may not be bad. Try using a different remote (universal) and program to TV. If universal remote works and your doesn't, you may need to purchase a remote instead of IR board. If you confirmed that the IR board is bad then replacing the IR board will fix the remote issue. IR board is an easy fix. Just open the back cover out and it's located right in the middle toward the bottom of the TV.
