It's on the main circuit board attached to a large heat sink. There may be one , two or three large IC's on the heat sink. These parts are soldered on . Be careful not to get a solder bridge between adjacent pins since the spacing is close . Parts kits can be found at shopjimmy.com

Thats a 8 Amp 600V diode BY229X-600 which is also used in locations 6307, 6308 & 6309 they are all the same diode. You should be able to get one from www.tvrepairworld.com
Look for a big heat sink (big piece of aluminum) right behind the back access panel. The brown pressboard that you need to take of to have access to the inside of the chassis. I think there is two STK chips for this tv. Older mits only had one. The STK chip is black, should be about 3" long with about 20 pins on it. It may have a metal clip covering the part number on the front.
Hello, your post describes your TV as being a Sony projection tv, so what I recommend trying is the auto-focus procedure. The key is usually located behind the customer door in front and middle of the speaker grille, as you open the door look for this key in the bottom of the other buttons on the key panel. press once and the auto focus will do the rest. If this does not correct the convergence problem you will need to have the TV checked out by a technician, the problem is going to be located in the power convergence amplifier circuit, usually two power amps are used but in your case its only one that is giving the problem(replacement of both amps is recomended).
Common problems with the chassis used in this model for complaints such as this are caused by damage in the convergence circuitry (since there are three separate picture tubes, each mounted in a physical location different from the others, the light each tube "throws" on the screen falls in a different physical location on the screen; the electronics of the convergence circutry force the red & blue light information to "converge" on the image produced by the green tube, which being physically located in the center of the other two is the "master" image), usually associated with the IC's used as amplifiers for the convergence circuits (this model uses STK392-110's) and with the high-wattage, low ohmage resistors used as biasing components for these amps
This is like a quiz right?? Let's see ;;;;;;; by convergence resistors I assume you mean the yoke return resistors out in front of the amps. There are 6, in the 2.2ohm 1w range, easy enough to find. The value of the convergence amps, that unit uses two stk392-110 Sanyo original Ic's rated at 6amps. You can use stk392-150's or stk392-180's just a higher amp rating. The two pico fuses in that circuit are F851 and F852 respectively.
Hope I get an "A"

The convergence amps are usually located on the extreme right side of the chassis looking in from the rear of the set. Located on a large heat sink. If you respond to this post with your correct model number I will post the correct ICs for your model, and you will need to replace the six convergence resistors as well.
Its located in the front behind the speaker panel there s a nother small access panel the convergence board is right there on the right hand side up front.
The convergence amps are the big STK's*** located possibly on the G-board in the sony. It is very difficult if you are not familiar with components and soldering, You can buy them at MCMelectronics, bluestar-online.com, Tritronics, VanceBaldwin.com, etc. Diagrams are online at fixya.com on the rightside of screen. Places like Manual.com or you can search the web. Hope this helps!
