It is best to revert to internet explorer 7 which is more reliable. or try a different browser like firefox or google chrome. you can download it for free. as it says, ie8 is still beta. it still has a lot of bugs that needs to be fixed.

I HAVE TO START MY COMPUTER LAST GOOD CONFIGURATION. WINDOWS DO NOT START NORMALLY. THERE IS A AUTOMATIC CHECKING OF DISKS IF WINDOWS START IN NORMAL MODE ,HOWEVER AFTER COMPLETION EVEN THOUGH DISK CLEAN...

Hi,

If this happened after installing IE8, I would suggest you try and start the computer in safe mode and then uninstall. Go to C:\WINDOWS\ie8\spuninst and double click on spuninst.exe (picture of a computer). This will revert the system back to the previous version of Internet Explorer.

Restart the pc and see if it loads back into windows OK

If this does not fix the issue, go back into safe mode, click on start, run, msconfig. Click on system restore and follow the instructions. This will take you back to a previous point in time so make sure you choose a time when the pc was working.

If you are unable to get into safe mode or the above still does not work, then there may be a corruption in Windows. You would need to think about repairing windows or recovering windows back to the way it was when you bought it with your recovery discs or a Windows XP CD

Hope that helps

Vista not running IE8 or Windows mail, freezing up

You may have tried the recovery program for your computer, if not then give it a try. Sometimes it is necessary to do this from your recovery discs rather than from the partician of your hard drive. Another thought which Im sure you have checked is for viruses. I always use a least two different virus scans. For instance if you have Norton running on your computer you might also run the free Trend Micro virus scan online. Not all virus scans are equal. Vista has been known to have problems so you might want to check with HP. They can do online chat with you while you try what fixes they suggest. I understand your frustration and hope that I have helped in some way. Good Luck.

Acer aspire netbook won't boot. How can it be restored?

This recovery process helps you restore the C: drive with the original software
content that is installed when you purchase your notebook. Follow the steps
below to rebuild your C: drive. (Your C: drive will be reformatted and all data
will be erased.) It is important to back up all data files before using this option.
Before performing a restore operation, please check the BIOS settings.
1 Check to see if Acer disk-to-disk recovery is enabled or not.
2 Make sure the D2D Recovery setting in Main is Enabled.
3 Exit the BIOS utility and save changes. The system will reboot.
Note: To activate the BIOS utility, press <F2> during POST.
To start the recovery process:
1 Restart the system.
2 While the Acer logo is showing, press <Alt> + <F10> at the same time to
enter the recovery process.
3 Refer to the onscreen instructions to perform system recovery.
