It is an electric motor Dewalt Emglo Compressor model#D55151. What type of oil should I use in it?

Dewalt recommends using synthetic pump oil, however if you only use the machine occasionally and not in a commercial setting, standard compressor oil will work great and save you money. Synthetic oil will last longer and can take much higher temperatures without breaking down. Lowes sell the kobalt brand of compressor oil and sells for about $3 for standard and $7 for synthetic. Home depot sells campbell hausfeld brand but equally as good. Auto parts stores also sell a line of compressor /pump oil just watch pricing for your needs. If you can't find compressor oil, non-detergent motor oil works just fine. Good holidays

Emglo air compressor too much pneumatic fluid, how to determine correct amount?

What are you putting the oil in? The compressor takes regular non-detergent oil, and it should have a dipstick or a site glass. The guns on the other hand, take the pneumatic oil, and most of them now days, don't even take oil. Only the older ones. I haven't changed or touched the oil in my compressor in 20 years. Any of them. Check it out.

Emglo airmate AM78HC4V; when trying to start compressor the motor will only hum

I had the same problem. Replace the motor capacitor. small white cilinder part with two wire plugs conected to it. This will have a single bolt holding it to the frame casing, you will find it under the black plastic shroud that covers the motor. Take it into any electrical or compressor shop and they will check it for you. costs about $35.00.

Air compressor does not regulate pressure to set point.

Emglo airmate compressors are set from the factory to shut off at around 125psi. There is an adjustment (remove cover to pressure switch) that will controll the cut-off pressure but it is not recommended changing the factory setting. There is also a safety valve installed that will open at about 160psi. It is a small brass device with a pull ring. When things go wrong with the pressure switch (rectangular box with power cord coming out of one side) the safety will pop open. There is a pressure regulator with round knob on panel that will lower the pressure to the tool, however this regulator does not control the pressure switch. Let you compressor run untill it shuts off and verify pressure to be about 125, if it is then all as well. Good Luck
