First, use the menu on the printer or the program for the printer on your pc to clean the print heads. May also have other options to repair such problems. If this does not work, uninstall the driver and go to Dell.com and click on their support page. Follow the instructions on that page (will ask for service tag) and download the newest driver. Install the driver and test the printer. Do not forget to make it the default printer.

If none of these options work, check if your still under warranty and contact dell. Otherwise, you need to send it in for repairs...but most likely, it is more cost effective to buy a new one. Your choice.

Print problems with A940 dell printer

The print-head pulls ink from the ink-cartridge, and sprays it onto the paper, unless the print-head has become "clogged".

Run a "print-head-cleaning" cycle, to try to unclog it.

Paper feeds to the right and Jams

Sounds to me like there is something in the paper chanel, a staple, paper clip or something small enough to get in there. Have you tried turning the printer upside down and lightly tapping the side to see if anything falls out?

Dell A940 Color Ink Problem

Do check the option and make sure that you have not inadvertently set it to black only- This could be computer wise or on the A940 panel. If you are sure all is well here Remove the scanner software and reinstall. Email Dell to See what they have to say
