Broken wire - Kenwood A701A

Black wire has come away from its junction inside the machine - not on the 'board' that you connect the power cable to. I think it may need to be soldered to a terminal near the screw to the rear of the machine on the opposite side to the control knob but cannot be sure. Can any advise, send a picture or a copy of the service manual please. Many thanks.

Black wire indicates negative so if you can see a place on the circuit board that looks like that's were it came from then get some advice from an electronics person before you put it together.

SOURCE: Kenwood chef A701A capacitor and other components

The 0.1 microfarad can be safely replaced with a 275 VAC 0.1mF mains capacitor. You can remove the clip that held the old electrolytic capacitor by sliding the old capacitor out and squeeezing the metal clip so that it disengages with the plastic base. The load resistor is 450 Ohm 15W or 20W wirewound. There is a 56 ohm resistor in series with the capacitor which helps smooth the speed change and reduces wear on the contacts. A 2W wirewound resistor works best. (It is worth removing the contacts and removing any pitting or carbon build up with fime emery paper). I have repaired about 20 speed controls sucessfully with these components.

SOURCE: Kenwood Chef A701A Blender needs new shaft seal

It uses a different thread = turn clockwise to undo - not the normal turn ccw to undo and the nut is attached to the 2 blades.

Hi, I'm from Malaysia.I have a Kenwood Chef model A701A.While creaming cheese the power whisk does not rotate.Could you please help to overcome this problem.thank you.

Hi from the Philippines and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

Is it just the power whisk or all attachments that do not rotate? On the A701A there is a clutch and spring fitted to the gearbox. (Spring loaded clutch) There is a pin in the cover that actuates the clutch. If the pin is broken or come out of the cover then the front of the machine will not work. (you may have to have someone fabricate a new pin!) If the clutch spring has broken you will experience the symptom you described also.

There is also a belt from the motor to the gearbox and the belt may have broken or come off.
The belt can be found on Ebay here:
