I have a 1/2 HP Craftsman Garage Door Opener with a control pad in the garage, a key pad outside and an electronic eye at the opening. Also 2 remote openers in the cars. The system is excellent for opening the door and it works from all positions. The problem is with closing. I must hold the control pad in the garage down for the entire cycle to get the door to go down. If I release the pad, the door goes back up. The door will not go down from either vehicle or the key pad outside the door. Thus, I must stand in the garage to put the door down and then walk out the back door and around the house to get in the car. The opener is only 2 years old. I have replaced the control pad in the garagge but it made no difference. Please help.
Locate
the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all
those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then
walk over to the keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and
press enter.
