Mitsubishi WD 52525 blue screen on all inputs

My 52" Mitsubishi TV only has a blue screen with an error message to check the input cables. Nothing is wrong there! I'm a former USN ET and can do just about anything except now the only test equipment I have is a multimeter. Any ideas here? I was thinking something in the processing section for the inputs? Thanks.

Thanks for the ideas. I am assuming that there is no way for me to check these without a repair manual. Any idea of the cost to repair if we bring it to a shop?

Can you help with this error message: "Check connections or power. The connections for RGBHV or YPrPb may be invalid." Getting no picture for any devices connected to the screen.

There is a problem with the Component video cables and/or connection. These are the 5 RCA cables. Red, Blue, Green and two additonal cables for audio in red and white. Be sure they are connected to the proper ports on each end. Not sure what you have connected to the TV with these cables, but HDMI would be best. You also should have selected "Video" from the Input button on the tv's remote. Check these and follow up if possible.

Mitsubishi WD-52525

Normal 0 The Mitsubishi WD-52525 has a serious capacitor problem as discussed in this forum overseen by a Mitsubishi certified repair technician: http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/mitsubishi/11703-problem-mitsubishi-wd-52525-scrambled-picture-no-picture-2.html. There has been a worldwide problem in computers and TVs over thepast several years with faulty electrolytic capacitors (from Taiwan) thatdecay, dry out, swell and die. The power supply is often the firstcomponent to go bad, but other systems also degrade over time. As theforum explains , this problem is widespread in these sets causing multipletypes of display problems after several years of use. On my set, I also got a blue screen with a lighter blue ball in the middle. Mitsubishi is awareof the problem and will cover most of the cost of repairing the chassis, evenyears out of warranty, but apparently ONLY if you get an estimate from aMitsubishi certified repair station and contact their customer support BEFOREdoing any work on the set. I just followed the recommended procedure onthat forum and Mitsubishi is covering half the cost of my $700+ repair when my3+ year-old set recently died and showed only this blue screen on all inputs.

Mitsubishi WD 52525 & PS 3

First make sure your hdmi cable is connected from the PS3 to the TV. Then go to netcommand, review, and make sure "monlink" is checked, click next, and finish. Select "monlink" from your device manager and turn on your PS3. If the screen is blue, go to the next step. Connect the PS3 via regular a/v cables to the front panel "input-3". Create a net-command device for input-3 as well. Switch to the input-3 device you created and turn on your PS3. Choose display settings, and change the settings to HDMI. Then click change. You'll have 30 seconds to hit device manager, change the device to "monlink", and let the PS3 unit know the setting has worked. From there you can configure. Good luck!
