Dear Jaime, We have a Sony WEGA KV-27HS420 Hi-D TV we purchased June 2005 no problems since then until today, when it failed to turn on. The standby timer light flashes 7 times. We tried unplugging it from surge protector for 60 secs and plugging it back into wall socket as suggested by website, to no avail. Does the 7 flashes tell you something specific about the problem? I tried turning it off then on again and you can see that it tries to turn on then shuts off again flashing the light. I checked the bulb but it is o.k. is there a fix for this? the standby timer keeps on flashing then turns off but no picture or sound how can i fix this thank you
IC/high power transister(s) and/or other componentshas gone bad gone bad - usually from a power surge. These will have to be replaced. A technician should check these out for you.
The problem with this set that blinks 7 times is related to the relay in the power supply. I replaced it on the exact same set and the tv now fires up and is functioning properly..

Follow the instructions from the image provide and see if that works, if it does not work; you have a hardware failure in your TV. The hardware failure could be the HOT or flyback transformer.
