There are two kinds of control switches in the electric start system of generator set: electromagnetic type and mechanical type. The electromagnetic switch is driven by the electromagnetic force to pull the fork to start. When starting the diesel engine, press the switch. At this time, the circuit is as follows: the battery switch, the connecting post 5, the iron absorption coil, the connecting post, the generator and the iron battery. The current flowing through the iron suction coil makes the core magnetized to produce suction force, and the moving contact is sucked down and closed with the static contact.

What size generator does it take to run an omnipro 220 multiprocess welding system

Best bet to check you buy a generator to run your welder safely is check the power rating on your welder. Welders need a good power source else they will not run properly.

Why does my miller bobcat welder generator not stay at an idle when swithed to low idle, insted it goes back and forth to high then to low idle?

The unit may need recalibrating the idle/run setting. Instructions found in manual at 8-6 (subaru engine) and 9-5 (kohler). Idle speed around 2200rpm. Simple screw adjustment. PDF manual here :- http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o4434l_mil.pdf

What is wrong with the idle on my welder? the switch works , it idles up when I switch it on high and it idles down when I switch it down but it wont go up when I strike an arc or use power tools, what...

There is something wrong with the auto load sensing switch which is part of the generator. That is the sensor that detects when current load from the generator drops as in when you strike an arc or turn on a power tool and cranks the throttle to full power. It is obviously working on manual because the manual switch is cranking the revs up so the solenoid that operates the throttle is ok. My advice is to take it to a service centre that deals in welder/generator sets as you are playing with dangerous voltages and may possibly damage the machine by tinkering with it or fry yourself (nasty)

There are many adaptors , form generator to other connectors, go to Ebay find out which one you need, most hardware stores have converter cables from generator to what you need, most adapters covert 240 to 120v 30 amp or 15 amp or 30amp to 50amp!

My machine will not drop idle when just running

Hi:
There are only three problems that can cause the idle speed to stay in high:1) The idler switch is on high position. Switch it back to the middle.2) Machine is on auxiliary power. Switch it to panel position.3) You have a faulty PC board or idler solenoid. Need to see a repair man.Good LuckDavid

I have a miller wildcat welding/ generator and the problem is that when I start the generator, it runs for a few minutes and then automatically shuts off. Whats the problem?

Hi:
The most common problem is the oil pressure switch. First make sure your machine has the oil up to the level line. If oil level is ok, then order the oil pressure switch and change it. If neither of these two actions cure the problem then send it in to be inspected by an authorized service mechanic.

Good luck

Lincoln Welder Generator Oil Question

Better late then never! im-308 total lube oil is 4 pints for a briggs and stratton engine
.
and 3.5 for an onan engine with filter change.

Note: an internal kill switch will shut down the engine if the oil level drops below a minumum

operating level on the onan engine only.

on your welder use a multi-viscosity sae sj grade or better oil. recommended is 10w-30.

if you work in cold environments use 5w-30 oil , it's thinner and will flow easier

during cold starts. Synthetic oil is better. just more expensive. change oil at least

every 100 hours for better performance. good luck!
