SOURCE: I just bought a Necchi 4825 sewing machine and

Did you catch it through the little wire on the top area of the needle? I had the same problem; also had two different types of thread (I think) in the bobbin versus the spool. Once I changed to the same type of thread and made sure I had caught through the little wire it was okay. My problem is that I cannot get it to do the stretch stitches!

I can never find parts and presser feet for necchi model 4900. Which more commonly found necchi uses the same parts as my model?

It looks to me as if it is a low shank and Amazon sells lots of low shank presser feet. I have bought the sets and they work great. They have a 52 piece set for about $32. As for parts, what do you need?

Hi where can I get instructions spare feet and Cotton holder for a necchi 215a

This will help you determine which presser foot shank you need for your machine. Once you know which shank fits your machine, you can purchase extra presser feet most anywhere:

As for a replacement spool pin, you can probably take your machine to a sewing machine repair shop and they can fix it for you.

Dunno. Talk to the local sewing machine repair shops, or send a photo of what's going on (or not going on) to Ron Anderson at A1 Sewing -- he's always been helpful, has a good reputation for speedy service. [email protected] Depending on the age of this machine, you may be looking for a parts machine to rob.

Necchi 511..how do you adjust thread tension on top thread

Before the thread goes though the uptake lever, it goes though the tension (a round "knob" with numbers).

When threading the machine, lift the presser foot. This opens the tension control so the thread can enter and then when the foot is down and you begin to sew, the tension setting will determine how much thread should feed to the needle.

The setting is usually around 4. However, if this is an older machine that has been used a lot and serviced a little, the tension may not work as it should.

Try different settings and if you cannot get a proper stitch, you will need to determine if the machine should be serviced or if you should purchase a new one - service and parts can be 1/2 the price of a decent, new machine.

Attaching fit button-hole foot?

Just pull down on the original metal foot. It will snap off and then you can snap on the button hole foot. Good luck!
