Kenmore elite model 790.4660

Was cooking and turned it off, went to turn it back on and wouldn't turn one and display for oven is also out. checked breaker and everything is on. just happened all at once. help??

yes the oven thermal fuse blew when the fan went off its also called a tco switch if you pull out the oven and take the top off there will be a tech sheet there that will give the location of the tco some are on top some are on back this can also happen if the oven is too tight in the cabinet not enough room around it to let the heat dissipate its a round metal disc with two wires on it

It could possibly be you are not getting 240 volts to the range. The top igniter may be getting a current back through the other side of the 240 circuit and that is why it works when the oven is turned on but the oven will not be getting power to heat. Have the 240 circuit checked or make sure the circuit breakers are reset correctly.

When I turn on the oven there is a clicking sound coming from the control unit. Stopped when the oven heated up. Do I need to be concerned? Does this mean something is going wrong? I have the Kenmore...

If everything is working ok don't worry .

It is probably just the thermostat 'cycling' in and out then stopping when it is up to temperature.

I have a kenmore wall oven that flashes f7 every time we try to use it. and it turns itself off right in the middle of cooking and starts flashing the f7. Help !!!!

Kenmore recommends this:

The display of your control is flashing "F" followed by a number or letter. Oven malfunction. Press the CLEAR/OFF pad. Let the oven cool for 1 hour and place the oven back into an oven operation. If the problem repeats, call for service. 1-800-4-My-Home.

Older Kenmore oven- door locked by itself

We had a quick power outage and when the power came back on it locked our older (1991) Kenmore electric oven model # 40889 / 40881. Went throought the manuel and nothing pertains to this problem. We have turned off the circuit breaker and turned back on, but nothing seems to unlock the door. Any suggestions would be GREAT!!!!!!!
