Same old issue, F1 error code. I emailed Whirlpool, they wanted more info from me. I responded and they never responded to the email reply. Called them on telephone and started to get run around. I purchased extended warranty and the minute I spoke about a petition and Class Action about the poor workmanship and representation, I have a service call this week. I asked the lady if this remedy will fix the issue or will I be calling her back in a few weeks with the same issue? She could not answer my question. I will post my results after the service call. Thanks Jim I am having the same problem, obviously. I called the 800 # and spoke with Beverly. She was extremely nice and helpful. Service rep is coming Thursday. I've been washing my clothes on light soil level, auto load size and cold temp. When I started having this problem I changed the soil level to medium and it worked fine. Hopefully this will work until the service rep gets here. Good luck to you all.
Hiding within your washer should be a secret coded booklet that has all the error codes that don't appear in the user's manual.
F1 generally means the Central Electrical Control Unit (as in cars, etc) it is the onboard
computer. It usually inicates a fatality.
If you do not have the skill & tools
to test the guts of this computer, you're stuck replacing the CECU.
BUT if you have the skill & tools then there are three screws at the rear to expose the control panel, then unplug
one unit; plug in the new one. Just to be on the safe side, color code
all the plugs and replace.
The Unit is normally around $200 to replace, BUT aren't you still under warranty????
If so get Whirlpool to check it out and Replace it, lol.
cheers,
Bastian
Now I just read a datasheet in a pdf format which I cannot remember where I downloaded it from and or if the exact one for your Model. These are Datasheets/Techsheet that sometimes are found somewhere inside the Machine for Serviceman, i.e Diagnostic Procedures as well as a Schematic Diagram.
If The Part number of your Datasheet/Techsheet is W10026571 then the following applies.
F1 indicates a Pressure Signal Out-Of-Range, i.e . The pressure hose connection from tub and machine/motor contol might be pinched or kinked causing the pressure to be Out-Of-Range.
It states that if after numerous attempts to rectify it by Powering the machine Off and On does not help especially when there is no pinching and or kinkin of the hose to be found, then the machine/motor control should be inspected and or replaced.
I hope I haven't confused you and that maybe it's starting to make sense instead.
again good luck and cheers,
Bastian.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
F1 error in your whirlpool cabrio indicates bad
control board and should be replaced to resolve the error code. However, you can
contact Whirlpool as well prior to replacing the control yourself as I have
seen whirlpool paying for the parts themselves just because this is known to be
a common issue. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
