Ice maker very slow to make ice

I have an LG LSC26905TT with an auto ice maker. The ice maker froze up and I removed the ice aroung the tray and turned off the on switch for 10 minutes to reset the ice maker. When I turned it on, the tray dumped the ice and filled with water for the next batch. I checked after an hour to see if it was making ice. It had not dumped the tray again although the ice had formed. I reset the switch again and then checked it 24 hours later. It had made about six batches of ice. There is no problem with the freezer being cold enough. The ice production is way to slow and there are no other switches to adjust the volume of ice made. How do I repair this?

How? When I turn the switch off and then back on the ice maker cycles as it is supposed to do by dumping the ice that has been made and then refilling with water for the next batch.

If you're referring to the tray for the ice maker, you can order it from your local LG retailer.

Ice maker is slow to make ice. It dumps sometimes. it builds a large mountain of forzen ice that mounds up under the tray. even though we remove it it always comes back. ice is also runnig down the...

Ice maker problems are almost always a problem. Sometimes I will locate an issue and fix it and then it will work for a short period and then break again. So, now I just replace the ice maker as a general rule. This is much more likely for success. However, the replacement ice maker is often not an exact match. And again, the this and the that sometimes causes problems. I will never accept a new customer on the grounds that I am going to fix their home ice maker. Make sure the ice machine is getter water like it is supposed to. Check the filter and the tubes. If the problem persists, get a new ice maker. If that ice maker angers you, get some ice cube trays.

Sounds like ice is building up near the fan blades. Try defrosting it longer to melt out all the ice and see if that helps.

Wires hanging in ice maker area

Look underneath the 2nd row from left in the ice tray there should be a white plastic piece that pops in and out from the bottom of the ice tray. Pop it off. There should be a piece of styrofoam on top of the piece you removed. the white wire runs along the bottom of the ice tray there may be little plastic hooks to place wire along the way. The sensor should fit right where the white piece of plastic and styrofoam you removed goes. Just place it there and pop that piece back in. It really doesn't attach to anything just lays there.
