Kx t7436 Background music

We have succesfully plugged a cd player into the BGM port on the main board, and when we select BGM, we can hear the music. However, when someone calls in and we put them on hold, they cant hear the music.

What do we need to do so they get the mucis we can hear rather then the beep beep hold sound??

The easy answer is check program 803. It should be set to music1. The harder one is that you need to look at some 990 programs. Most notably area 7 bit 7 for a "1".

@Michael A display phone on port 1 logged in as an installer would work.

KX-T7730 phone is not changing the hold music although i have plugged in the mp3 player in the outside box, and tried to program it by doing the following: program > *#1234 > 104 > speaker phone...

If you're reading the programming instructions in order, keep going :-) I have no clue what SLT hold mode has to do with music on hold or background music, but when you get to 111-BGM-Music On Hold source, you can set it to external and you're in business.

I want to change the background music on my telephone system - my phone is a Panasonic kx-t7730. How can I do this?

All of your phones plug into a Panasonic Key Service Unit. The music source plugs into a port on the KSU. A TA series has 11 modular jacks on the main board and 2 1/8" jacks labeled EXT MUSIC and PAGING. Guess which one goes to the music source :-).

There will be a cable plugged into it and into the music source. That's where you change the messages or music.

I have a Panasonic TDA-50 that insists on playing a chime-like music on hold (MOH). How can I shut off the internal MOH and allow the external MOH to work??thanks

Wow. If we told you, we'd have to kill you :-)

There's an easy way and a hard way to do it, and both require you to know the Installer password to the sytem. In the Maintenance Console, you need 2.2 BGM and Hold Music, or from the main phone, programs 710-712. 710 is the source for BGM which you change to EXTERNAL, 711 is the source for MOH which becomes BGM 1 (the only port on a 50) and 712 is the source for transfer calls (either ringback or MOH.)

If you don't have the magic password and instructions for getting into the system, you'll need to call your Pana installer for access.

My BGM, back ground music used to work, now it does not. We use it only for music at our work stations. We press BGM for some music then toggle it off if necessary. It automatically shuts off if the...

Since a TD system BGM is just a single press "1" on an idle phone to turn on or off, I'm hard pressed to understand what you mean about BGM being a key. If you press "1" on a display phone and it says BGM On, and it doesn't work, go back to wherever the system cabinet is and look for the BGM port on the side of the phone system. It probably means the source is turned off or disconnected.

Change radio station on Panasonic KX-T7633

Well, it depends. You can have 2 BGM sources on a TDA-100 or higher system. The system in the back room will have 2 MOH jacks and you can select the source from a phone. Since this is also the Music that the callers hear, there may be copywrite issues on playing commercial radio on hold. Most places actually use MOH 1 for a Promotion on hold, and MOH 2 for employee's BGM.
