HP L7680 all of a sudden stopped printing cyan. Replaced cartridge even though not completely empty and still no cyan. Went through all of the diagnostics that the printer has for alignment, cleaning, calibration. Self test diagnostic says print heads are good. Only 8700 prints on this printer and heads, any ideas?
Place a soft clean tissue paper over the cartridge print head and leave for about eight minutes. You can secure it with the aid of a rubber band. It should be held firm ok. If the tissue paper is not dampened by ink then the cartridge would have gone bad or the ink dried. You also know that they have expiry date and could go bad while yet in the packaging b/c it has expired. Good luck

Are you talking about the ink cartdridge or the print head. Ink cartridge is new and previous ink cartridge was not yet all used. Could it be the print head going bad? I removed the print heads and cleaned manually. Expiration date on heads is 5/10/2010. Looks like it prints fine for the first 2.5 inches then fades. By the end of the print there are noticable lines perpendicular to the sheet feed. Any further recommendations? Thanks.
