Jessop's tried their own brand on, which fitted the connection on the top of the camera, but the flash didn't fire.... they suggested finding a Minolta flash online (still to do that), but surely if the connection fits, it should work? Are we missing something in the set up? Should I search for a Minolta flash?
I need it for photographing kitchen interiors, rather than portraits - so any recommendations & pointers on which flash to buy & where to get it from would be gratefully received. I don't mind if it's a stand alone flash, or on top of the camera but would like on which bounces the light off the ceiling (I understand that's the way it do it....?).
Thank you! Clare
Having researched the internet - I've found a Minolta branded flashgun suitable for your camera. It has the bounce flash you ask for, however it's not cheap.
Here's the link:

There are cheaper flashes - but they don't have the bounce facility - there is another option though - in that you can fit a diffuser to the front of the flash to soften the light. Some are made from solid white plastic - some are a more flexible material.
On that same website - they had cheaper compatitble flashes from about £200 - Minolta branded.
Cheaper flash
Maybe worth getting the cheaper gun and a diffuser?
Diffuser
PS - if you think this useful - please remember to rate me :) Thanks.
Good luck :) and thanks.

Crikey! You're not wrong about the price! Thanks for looking into it though. At least I have the name of a product, maybe I can find it on Ebay or something for (a lot!!) less?
Many thanks
Thank you!!
