I bout retractable travel mouse and doesn't seem to work on my labtop

It may have a manufacturing defect. Have you tried it on another computer? If it works on another computer, see whether it works when connected to a different USB port on the laptop. If it does, then you may have a bad or damaged USB port on the laptop. If it works on another computer but still does not work on the laptop when connected through an alternate port, then see whether some other device will work when attached to the laptop's USB port. If neither the mouse nor the other device work when connected to a USB port, then you have a problem with the USB controller. If an alternate device does work when connected to the USB ports of the laptop, and if the mouse works when connected to another computer but does not work when connected to the laptop, then you have a software problem, and probably need to change the mouse driver in a control panel or setting in the operating system of your laptop.

Gigabyte GM-M5050 not connecting to laptop.

it is only a USB mouse and works on any pC really.
w7 needs no special driver for this mouse ever,
it uses PnP, plug and play and the internet must be active and working for PnP to work is it? not told that.
your failed computer is all messed up with w7 even infected
monza is w7, 2012 made (year)
the usb ports are first not mouse the device manager must show all USB ports have good drivers, and you test them using a USB stick of thumbdrive memory to be sure they do work, and if does good
or use USB keyboard to test usb ports all
if all that works then the mouse is tried. and internet connected and the mouse to when connected must show up in device manager.
and actually function/

How do I setup a wireless mouse on a desktop

To setup a wireless mouse regardless of its type, do the following:

1. Insert the USB transmitter (this could look like a mini plug or a stick) and wait for windows to complete installation.
2. Once this is successful, turn on the mouse by holding down the power button. Or insert the disc that came with the mouse and run the installer. The installer will install the device drivers and setup your mouse's configuration panel which will reside in your system tray.

Make sure that the mouse has batteries and that it is switched on for it to work. It will glow red when it is switched on.

After not using my laptop for several months (it was plugged in however) my USB mouse will not work now when I boot up my Toshiba Satellite laptop.

Here are some trouble shooting steps you can try relatively easily....
If the mouse connects via a USB cable, try connecting it on another USB port while the laptop is on.
If it is an optical mouse, check to see if the LED(s) underneath are lit. Change ports until LED lights.
If you have another computer also with a USB mouse and it is working, try a mouse exchange. If the non-working mouse also does not work on the other computer and the mouse from the other computer works on your Toshiba Satellite laptop, the problem is likely with the non-working mouse.
Finally, If the non-working mouse is a wireless one, its battery may be dead. Try a new battery in it.

IBM Optical Mouse doesn't work

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Mouse Receiver from the USB port and reinstall the CD software program. When the program asks you to connect the Mouse Receiver to the USB port, do so and it should work.
