Tcl tv repair

I have a TCL LE55FHDF3300Z 55" LED backlight LCD, just over a year old. Left half on the picture is very dark. I discovered all the backlight LEDS on that half side of the screen were not on. I noticed the driver board for the backlight LEDs had two outputs, one for the left side of the screen and one for the right side. Soooo I switched the wires from left to right and found that there was no change. Hummm, board must be OK so that just leaves the LEDs. I noticed when the set is powered up, ALL the defective side of LEDs do all come on in a very limited brightness for about one second then they shut off. I need to know how these things are wired to do any more checking. Unless someone can tell me what my problem is.

SOURCE: Backlighting issues on tv set (I think). Screen goes extremely dark after about 30 min. of viewing. Does not return to orginial brightness unless unit is left off for a long period of time

Lcd tv sets are lit by small glass florescent tubes called cold cathodes and, are powered by: ballasts called inverters... these go out just like your office florescent lighting the parts can be purchased online from electronic parts houses and, are easily replaced

SOURCE: HELP! Olevia lt37hvs screen went blank. No Sound, panel buttons wont work. Backlight is only on on half of screen.

if you had audio i wold say its most likely the Tconn or its upper two connections to the Panel itself. But since you dont have any sound either I would assume its either the LVDS cable from the main board to the Tconn or the Main board itself as audio and video are produced on the main board, You can get replacement boards from www.tvrepairworld.com

I can't change Roku TV backlight brightness?

If you're unable to change the backlight brightness on your TCL Roku TV and the backlight remains on even when the LCD screen is turned off, there may be an issue with the TV's firmware or hardware. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Reset the TV: Sometimes resetting the TV to its default settings can fix issues like this. To reset your TCL Roku TV, go to Settings > System > Advanced System Settings > Factory Reset. Note that this will erase all your settings and preferences, so you'll need to set them up again.
  2. Check for updates: Make sure your TV's firmware is up to date. Go to Settings > System > System update and check for updates. If there's an update available, download and install it.
  3. Check the cables: Make sure all the cables connected to your TV are securely plugged in. If the backlight issue started after you took the TV apart, it's possible that a cable came loose or wasn't plugged in correctly.
  4. Contact TCL support: If none of these steps work, it's possible that there's a hardware issue with your TV. Contact TCL support for assistance or consider taking the TV to a repair shop.

Hi guys ! I'm looking for advice! 55 inch qled smart tv, the audio is audible is good, black screen instead. Tcl model : u55x9006

The issue you're describing with your TCL 55-inch QLED Smart TV, model U55X9006, where you can hear audio but the screen is black, could be caused by a problem with the backlight or the backlight driver.
Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the backlight settings: Make sure that the backlight settings on the TV are set correctly and that the backlight is not turned off.
  2. Check the backlight driver: The backlight driver is responsible for controlling the backlight, so check that it is functioning properly.
  3. Check the backlight inverter: The backlight inverter is responsible for providing power to the backlight, so check that it is functioning properly.
  4. Check the video signal cable: Make sure that the video signal cable is securely connected and that there are no damaged or loose wires.
  5. Check the T-con board: The T-con board is responsible for controlling the video signal, so check that it is functioning properly.
  6. Inspect the screen: Check the screen for any visible damage.
  7. Contact TCL customer service: If the above steps did not resolve the problem, it is best to contact TCL customer service for further assistance and repair options.

Hi, Issue TCL 55" TV half of screen dark. Model 55ua57-w As mentioned the middle of the screen is dark. Can you suggest what might be the issue?

HI there do check all circuit boards in back cover for any blown fuses or other electronic components , If all good then you will have to remove LCD screen to test LED lights . switch TV on from standby mode and shine a LED torch onto screen with room completely dark if ICONS do display ,Then i wood recommend for you start off checking your power supply circuit board or driver board . A easy way of checking if LED lights are working again in a dark room with TV switched on look through back cover vent holes for any light shinning through small openings this would determine if some or all back LED lights are blown.

I would like to know if the ShopJimmy.Com Kit will fix my TCL 55 Inch TV?

It is impossible to predict whether the kit will help or not.

My advice for such a young tv is to take it to a local engineer for a proper diagnosis and a repair the engineer will have to take responsibility for doing right.
After only 1.5 years most of the components you are planning to replace will be good quality and far from worn out.

I suggest if you want to practice and are willing to risk some of your cash, experiment on a tv that has little or no value.
