Could you explain what are you booting from if like you said "no disk drive on this". What was the last thing the member of your family does on that PC? Any new installed programs, or hardware? Does the PC restarts itself after that "full circle" or stays frosen?

It looks like there is a programm installed which cse that problem, or a virus. Tha solution could be boot crom oryginal CDrom with operating system. You could use a recovery console, but obviously this option is not for you, as there is no CDrom.
But do not worry, you can can try anoter thing. Quick after power on your PCstart tapping DEL (or CTRL, this depaend on BIOS verion) key to get into BIOS setup. Use tab and arrows to move between windows and option. You need fin a section named as "Restore manufacturer options" / "Restore default settings" - name depend on the BIOS version as well. You need choose this option and confirm. To get out from the BIOS simply pres ESC, but make sure you confirm SAVE and EXIT to make sure those changes are going to be saved.
This should help, if not nothing wrong is going to happend to your PC.

Whant to know video card compatibility (spec) i whant to use my old hp vectra vl 400 as a living room pc on my 50'' plasma screen and i whant to have a s-video out sorry for my english iam french steve

Bonjour mon ami... I am in Nuve Zealand.. You are going to need an older type card, if memory serves it needs to be AGP, These are a little old for things there days, and while they will output to a TV, the quality is NOT going to be very good... But in saying that you still get acceptable results, i would guess you will use XP SP2, as your OS? This will drive any card you choose well. I have included a link below to help you choose an AGP card, that suits your purpose and price range.. Bon Chance

Iv just formated my hp vectra vl now i have no sound

Go to HP's website, find the model you use, and download the sound driver. Or, if you use a third party sound card, go to their site and download their audio driver.

I hope this helps.

Computer will not read hard drive, at the startup it just says 0mb as if nothing was there, but everything else shows up and also it makes a clicking noise when turned on.

There are several possible problems to look for. It could be a faulty hard drive or your hard drive has bad sectors on it. If you have another hard drive try using a different hard drive.

I have two copies of XP Pro and one COA is being used, one will be used today, and I need one more COA for another PC I want to format. How can I get a (legal) COA, without neccesarily buying a disk? I...

buy a COA from ebay, family member or friend. you don't need to buy a installation disk. If you've 100 COA and only one installation disk it fulfills the legal requirement. However be careful, buy only OEM COAs, not HP, Toshiba or other allocated firm's COAs. Otherwise the key'll not work.
