Hi,
There are many reasons why a dehumidifier willnot work or collect water.
Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrongwith their dehumidifier

Dehumidifier does not collect moisture. cleaned the filter and still doesn't work. fan works fine.

I have a Danby dehumidifier model DDR6011R and it runs but I have yet to empty any water from it. I have used other dehumidifiers in the same area and they take out tons of water. What's the problem? It was bought new and this is the second one with the same results

If it doesn't get cold change the temperature,
Put the float wire up.
finally it is out of r-14- freon.
