Canon zr700 won't play tape

That is the pinch roller. If it does not press the tape against the capstan, then the tape will not pass the read/write heads. Replace it.

The camcorder will not accept a tape. without a tape, the thing will open and close. With a tape, it will beep and the motor spins, but it will not receive the tape.

hey pls put your cam with the 60 watt blub which can produce heat and put it like cabinet about 1 hours! it will solve it !

Camera won't record a certain tape

either the tape is sticky or is hard to take the reel. that's why it's beeping.

Will Not Load Cassette

I have the zr850 which I have used less than a dozen times, and it does the same thing as you describe. Was told by canon tech people to try a maxell brand tape and a head cleaner tape. Have not tried their sugestion yet. camera is 3 months old.
