How do I remove the front passenger door on a Citroen c5

Examine the hinges. They may be bolted from the outside at the door side. Another option is remove the 'drop pins' holding the two half's of the hinge together. Some hinge pins are only held in with a spring clip. Your only other option is to remove the front wing and unbolt the door with the hinges still on.
To remove the pins-
NOTE THIS IS A TWO PERSON JOB!!
Proceed as follows...
Support the weight of open the door.
Tap the spring clip sideways off the thin end of the pins,
(located top of the top hinge and bottom of the bottom hinge).
Tap the bottom pin upwards then the top hinge downwards.
You might need to wriggle the door to get them to move.
REFITTING
Put the bottom pin in first as it 'drops' in and the upper pin pushes up into position.
Again, you will have to wriggle the door and GENTLY tap the pins into place.
Swopping the the pins makes it easier to line up the new door as it closes.

99 Chevy Silverado door pins how to change hinges

If the hinges are bolted they can be released from the bodywork and door by removing the bolts although on many models accessing the bolts can be a very difficult task.

In the case of welded hinges the door must be removed by removing the hinge pins. There is then a lot of careful grinding and cutting to remove the hinge parts from the door and the bodywork and new hinges welded into place.

In the case of a car regularly maintained, including oiling the hinges, removing the hinge pins with a dedicated service tool is relatively easy but can be extremely difficult without the service tool. Cars that have not received a high level of maintenance throughout it's life hinge pins can be extremely difficult to remove needing the application of heat, lots of hammering and repainting afterwards.

How do I remove hinge pins from everbuilt door hinge

You'll need a punch tool that has a diameter slightly smaller that the pin itself. Take a hammer and use it to drive the hinge pin out.

Door saggs on my HD3500 work truck

Sounds like your hinge pins are wearing out. You can get a hing pin and bushing set either at the dealer or any auto parts store. You'll need a jack and a block of wood, or some rubber matting to protect the door. Open the door and place the jack under the door and raise the jack just enough to support the door. Using a hammer, I use a brass hammer but a steal hammer will work, drive the hinge pins out one at a time. With the hinge pin driven out you'll be able to see the wear in the hinge plate, then you install the bushings required to " realign" the pin holes and then reinstall the hinge pin. Sometimes the holes are badly elongated and on the later models were the hinge is welded I remove the door and build the wear area with a wire welder. The bushing method usually works well for most. Good luck I hope this helps.

How do I replace the long screw that holds the door up on the door hinges,on a '97 gmc Sonoma?

I have done a 100 of these.

The hardest part is going to be to reinstall the spring on the lower hinge arm. this is not a screw but rather a pin.
There are two hinges that hold the door to body.
when the upper and lower pins are removed the door will come away from body, it is important that before you remove the pins you take a look at the hinges.
Pay close att. to the way the hinges sit inside each other and the way the pins go in. see if they go from top to bottom or from bottom to top. also note where the copper bushings sit in hinges. each hinge has one pin and two copper bushings top go into hinge.
Over time the pins and bushings wear out ,making door hard to open and close. When the pins and bushings get so bad that the bushing is worn out and then the pins are now wearing into the hinge hole itself then this get tricky. if hinge hole is egg shaped the new bushings will not last. the door will hang again in a few weeks. this is where is get costly, the hinges now need replacing. i have gotten good at welding the holes and filing them back to shape but this takes skill or hole will be wrong and bushing will not fit or line up.

Here is a youtube video to help you.
Take note. put jack stands under door with cloth to avoid scratching door.this is to hold door when pins are removed. have somone help you, they will hold door on stands. the wires will still run through door, pull door away from body a little to allow room to work.remove the spring, it will fall out as you remove pins, remove old bushings, clean hinge area and holes, next install new bushings, apply lube to holes for pins and on bushings, slide door back on frame hinges and install pins, next slide lock washers on pins to hold pins. last is the spring. you will need a spring tool, you may rent one at auto parts store. hope this helps good day.

A pin broke on the rear window hinge. do i need to replace the pin only or replace the whole hinge?

hi.

the only time i have known these hinge pins break is when they seize solid in the hinge due to corrosion.
even if you can get just the pin, the corrosion would normally still be in the hinge, and will eventually cause problems with the new pin.

i would just change the whole hinge, you know that there will be no further problems from that hinge.

Need instructions on replacing drivers side door hinge pins and bushings

  • 1. Place masking tape on the inside edges of the door, on both the inside and outside of the door. 2. Remove the door spring by using a door spring removal tool. Insert the tool into the door spring, turn the knob with a screwdriver to compress the spring, then pull out the tool. 3. Set a 5-gallon bucket under the door. This will help support the weight of the door. 4.Place a nail punch under the hinge pin, and strike it with a hammer. Repeat this until the hinge pin begins to come out of the hinge. 5.Place the end of a flat-head screwdriver under the top of the hinge pin, then strike the screwdriver with the hammer to force the hinge pin out of the hinge. 6. Place the bushing on top of the new door hinge pin, and tap it into place with the hammer. 7. Insert the new hinge pin into the hinge. Tap on the hinge pin with the hammer and nail punch to force the pin into the hinge. 8. Insert the hinge spring back into the door, and release the tension on the spring removal tool. 9. Spray the door hinge with a lubricating spray or apply grease.

I know there are a few directions but it is fairly easy to do. If you have access to an air hammer and a compressor you can use this in place of a manual hammer to make the process a bit easier.

    Hope this helps.
